Can I be the first to say well done to WoodleyRoyal for cleverly starting a h8 campaign against Mills so that he'd be so fired up he'd score the winner against Everton. I thought WR was pretty dense and a bit of a cock, but I now see what he was up to.

Man Friday The question is Do Reading fans really deserve a succesful football club? I'd be surprised if there was a more negative, critical, moany lot than Reading "fans" anywhere in the world. In my view, the Club (its players, staff, management) deserve a better set of fans!

Stop watching them then

They deserve me, not just some of you!

Then you need to get out bit more, mate.
By that I mean try having a look at other clubs' discussion boards.
Reading fans are little different from any others.
The opinions on most sites mirror ours, in that some fans actually idolise so and so because he wears the club's shirt, and will support so and so if he is caught drink driving, gang raping, or whatever.
Others take a far more pragmatic view, and look at so and so and comment solely about what he does on the pitch.
I believe that I heard several thousand scousers booing their team about 9-30 last night............

I probably do, actually, but the reinforced bars prevent it!

A great captains performance by Matt Mills supported by a great team effort.

McDermott if we were that organised all season at the back we would have won the league.

WoodleyRoyal If a player is watching from the stands for four matches because of being suspended, or shattering a youngsters confidence by abusing them on the pitch, or pissing off thousands of fans is..... utter gash in my book! don't know about yours.

tit.

face it

you were wrong.

mills gave everything last night in a fair approximation of what a captains performance should be, exactly as he diud up there vs liverpool last year.
not only that but i thought he gave th eperfect captains performance after the game too with his interviews.
not only that but he proved all the fans wrong about the negativity. we should have been more positive, because we had every chance of beating everton, as we showed.

let it go.

actually reading fans are different t o any other fans. see coppells car park demo, the same week that the other relegated teams were demonstrating to get rid of their managers.

and no one was praising kitson after his drink driving, or lita after his fights - by the way.

hes simply seen what the threads about long did for him, the threads abouut kebe did for him, and the early comments on ledge did for him, and thought maybe millsy needed the same thing.

simple tactics really. guaranteed to work.,

well done WR

I like the little things he did like not being able to spell 'rapport' to make us all think he was really stupid and coming across like he h8ed women. All part of his master plan.

Funny though that Mills turns it on when the TV cameras are there. Liverpool last season, Leicester and Everton this. What the team have done is shown what they are capable of. It is up to them to replicate that sort of performance week in week out.

which is what the cup win did for them last year- show them that theyre good enough to beat anyone.
hopefully it will do the same again this season.

to say thats those are mills' only three performances, or even his best three is blinkered

though he did mention that one of his team mates said exactly the same thing post match

Colin Cheeselog Anybody who thinks one incident of Mills kicking the ball accurately from 12 yards outweighs his 2 years of being an utter intolerable cnut are probably retarded.

I am, however, both pleased and surprised that he didn't hoof it as hard as possible in the wrong direction.

I can't even raise a LOl at someone who thinks that anyone having an opposing view to his own must be retarded. Cod-superiority to that degree is to be pitied. I respect your opinion not to like Mills, but I defend anybody's right to take the opposite view and not be insulted. It reduces your comment to worthless. Try a grown-up view and conduct a rational conversational debate.

You seem to have missed my (very simple) point. Several people stated their opinion that they don’t rate Mills and don’t like the way he comes across as a person.

After Mills then scored several other people then tried mocking those people that had stated their dislike of Mills, implying that scoring a rather straight forward goal was evidence that Mills was a good player after all and a wonderful captain.

My point was that having built up an opinion over 2 years or so, that isn’t immediately counteracted because of one goal, yet people were mocking as if obviously all his bad performances and his bad attitude was now erased from history.

I didn’t once say that anybody who had an opposing view to me was retarded, only those people that think one tap in goal outweighs countless shocking performances, his making threats to Reading fans (yes, this is true) and sticking his figure up to fans.

Read my comment again, perhaps more carefully.

lol at chesting it down and volleying it in, from the middle of a crowded penalty box, in the FA cup away at everton being simple.

and i thought he came across brilliantly " as a person" after the game last night tbf

I heard the commentary team at Goodison last night being very complimentary about Mills.

Not everyone can be a Gylfi and be good 100% of the time - the guy who started this thread just doesn't like Mills and it wouldn't matter if Mills found a cure for cancer, scored 100 goals a season and helped England lift the World Cup, he STILL wouldn't like him - because that is his mindset.

Great performance from all of the team, and especially Mills.

Just goes to show the potential in some of the lads, but true quality is doing that week-in week-out.

I still don't think think he should really be quite so critical of a very placid bunch of fans as ours, and I still don't warm to the bloke, but that was his best performance since Leicester away were he was again a rock, albeit not in such a complete defensive performance from the team.

Mills was absolutely outstanding last night.

That was an immense performance. Leigertwood was also superb. He won everything, didn't allow Everton to play, was strong in the tackle and used the ball very well. Superb.
