Tonight's XI: McCarthy; Cummings, Harte, Gorkss, Pearce; Guthrie, Leigertwood, McAnuff, Robson-Kanu; Le Fondre, Pogrebnyak

To play around 60 minutes

Starting to look a little more like I'd expect our lineup against Stoke to be (save for Feds and Kebe back assuming they're recovered)

Strongest team available that, really. Although, I'd like to see Mariappa line up along side Gorkss. Interesting to see what sort of partnership Pog and Alf can create. Standard bigman, littleman combo!

Hopefully Brian fancies giving Pog and Alf a go, still to early to judge though

In an otherwise fairly poor second half v Sheff Wed, Pog and Alfie did link pretty well at times. Could be quite a useful pairing

Would have thought McCleary would be ahead of HRK at this point, but otherwise unsurprised at that line-up

Does anyone know how good tonight's opponents are? I know they play in the top division, does anyone know where they finished last season?

Based on that line up, if we don't score in the first 60 minutes I'll start worrying for the start of the season.

Olhanense finished 8th out of 16, winning 9, loosing 9 and drawing 12. last season at home they drew with Benfica, Sporting, and Porto all 0-0. the danger man looks to be Wilson Eduardo.

This will be a real test. It's about time McDermott starts playing what he thinks will be his first team line up really with only friendiels against Brighton, Bournemouth and Palace left

Shame we never had a top European side at home in our final friendly, like the year we played Feyenord . . . Palace just isnt the same!

Adam Federici rested tonight, Jason Roberts not involved. Kebe, Karacan, McCleary, Gunter injured #readingfc

Read into that what you will, given that it was rumoured negotiations have stalled over his new contract a few weeks back. Bit strange for all the injured players to be listed and then one just to be left out for no reason at all.

Just watched the highlights and I'm getting excited for the season. Guthrie looks like a great purchase
