Big Ern Did Dellor throw a spaz attack when we got the winner?

Great win. We've got a good formula going and the 4-5-1 is allowing us to gradually gain confidence. Improved on the ball - we even had more possession
than Sunderland - and Akpan really got up to support Pog well.

Only one negative and that's Legs, giving the ball away far too easily in dangerous positions. Hoping Carrico when he's up to speed can come in for him.

Think we really would be a decent team then.

Well done lads!

Ian Royal
TBM Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann on Final Score:
"It is a momentum thing when you keep scoring late, but you cannot forget Reading were also dropping points at the death in previous games"

:? Maybe i'm having memory issues here but what games have we lost by late goals?

Chelsea A - 81, 90
West Brom - 71
Newcastle H - 83
Swansea A - 71, 78
Fulham H - 77, 88 - although we scored a couple late ourselves to rescue a point.
Wigan A - 90
Villa A - 80
Man City A - 90

Of those only 2 are "at the death" - ie last 5mins
(Fulham we came back so didnt throw it away)

Couldn't make the game as playing myself (2-0 down came back and won 2-3 :D )

What a great result, I think others around us will sit up and take notice of us now and actually treat us with some respect.

How did legs and akpan look alongside one another, or was akpan used behind Pog? Really can't be bothered to trawl through the thread, SDC says he was immense but what did he bring to the game? I'm shattered and in the pub having a cold bubbly pint of victory

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. What's refreshing about today is that on balance we deserved that win. Jimmy was Jimmy, Akpan looked fantastic for most of the game, and I thought Mariappa and Kelly were superb. Not to mention Federici's handful of great saves.

For them, N'Diaye was absolutely fcuking shocking!

Re: Akpan, he just looked so comfortable. Keeps the game very simple, looks for the right pass and makes it but that pass is always positive, well struck, his movement off the ball was excellent too, supported Pog as well as the midfield. Couple of times he lost his composure and treated us to a League One hoof, but that's to be expected from time to time. Very promising display.

Super stuff today, Kebe, Feds, and Mariappa the pick for me.

Akpan looks like a raw talent but can see him making the grade.

Agree with previous poster who said we were on top in first half but second half could have gone either way.

Agree. N'Diaye was in our top 5 best players today.

Akpan looks like an absolute steal. Everything I thought was wrong with Jimmy (ie Aerial ability and defensive work) seems to have magically disappeared.

That's the first game for quite a while that over the 90 minutes we've deserved to win.

Cheers for the Akpan analysis cmonurz. I was at Chelsea but gutted I could see him start, sounds very promising and exciting we may have another bargain right there. Not too fussed about hearing he hoofed it either, at least he's not another legs and brings something different also. Sounds like he is not phased by the step up anyway

Great composure, but then he was in Everton's system so he's clearly not just a 'league one' player.

Get Carrico to spread the ball around and we'll be a very different team.

Btw what a world class delivery that was from Harte for Kebe's goal!

For the first time this season we deserved this win, had good attacking style play and looked the better team. Well chuffed.
