I'm sure Charlie boy said recently that Baird wants to stay and Adkins wants him to stay, so it's safe to assume he'll stay.

Doubt it will be renewed .... can't afford to have another injured player on our books to add to the dozens of others.

Watts mentioned recently that the club want him fit first. He's already broken down in training twice when trying to come back.

No mention from Adkins in the injury update on OS site either. Only Morro and Bridge back in the next month. What has happened to Ledge? He played for the U21s back in November, but there's been no news of another breakdown (unlike Baird)?

I would imagine the club may allow him to stay with us and train without a contract until he is fit and then maybe assess him later. We may not hear anything for a while I guess

Probably stress from the cruel taunts of his own fans and their extreme ungratefulness after his goal won us promotion. See what you've all done now, huh huh? You don't care though do you? None of you bloody care.

Did he imply that its was somehow Adkins fault (too much short passing, too early after injury) and it would never have happened on McDermotts watch ?

For once Adkins is blameless. This one is all down to the fans.

Tbf I think they only did it because Ledge isn't one of us

Talksport reported this morning that Ipswich, Brighton and Forest are offering contracts.

Only online link I could find http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news ... with-baird and the Daily starha

when did Dellor mention Ledge? Is this new news? I clearly missed it somewhere. Just can't remember seeing anything on the OS in their regular injury updates

Story about Baird in the Brighton Argus:

http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/1095316 ... for_Baird/

Albion have targeted Chris Baird as a potential replacement for Adam El-Abd.

But they face competition for the Northern Ireland international from other Championship clubs.

Baird’s four-month contract with Reading expired on Monday.

He has been side-lined for seven weeks by an ankle injury and Reading are assessing his fitness before deciding whether they want to try to keep him.

Baird, 31, is free in the meantime to talk with other clubs.

That has alerted Albion, who need a replacement for long-serving third choice centre-half Adam El-Abd following his move to Bristol City last week.

Baird, formerly with Fulham and Southampton, can play anywhere across the back four.

Big-spending Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town are also reportedly interested in him.
