My concern is that Charlton barred Sonko had been looking better and certainly better than Ivar.

However you have to laugh at Stoke. He has the ability to be a dominating Championship defender, but in the premiership where his lunges and slightly lacking positional sense can be exploited by more cynical, quick and talented players he is a total liability.

We're strong at centreback providing we don't lose anymore. Hopefully this will help make Coppell see Cisse as a defender and not a midfielder as well.

Good Business IMO. About £8m in upfront in total for only one crucial player lost and that player with a dodgy injury record, is fine by me.

I completely agree about Sonko - in the prem quick, mobile centre-forwards made mincemeat out of 'Superman.' Last saturday's showing convinced me that good championship players would do the same - that's why I am not upset to see him leave.

I am more worried about others leaving this weekend. This is going to be a difficult couple of days and no mistake... :|

I will be gutted if Sonko leaves because at his peak he was our best defender, even tho he has not been at his best since his injury I still think it is too early to write him off.

hes been shit for 2 years and has an attitude problem. Get him out.

The downside is, to score a goal this season now, we'll need 3 penalties a game ;)

As I said - done deal..

Great bit of business. Interesting that it has taken all morning to come out officially.. I would guess Reading FC have been working on a signing of their own.

For 10p obviously, but a signing none the less..

Its irrelevant how much he's sold for - the club won't see the money and it won't be used to buy new players. It will join the £5.5m for Kitson and the £3.5m for Shorey and go towards paying off JM's loan.

Royal Rother It's good to see 2 previously regular posters return (however briefly) and talk total sense.

Take a bow Nicky Hammond.

2.5 million for an average and clumsy CB is very good money indeed.

rg6royal
Platypuss
rg6royal Idiots. Why would we want to get rid of our top goal scorer and one of our best defenders?

£2M. HTH.

We don't need £2m HTH

We don't need Sonko either.

HTH.

Okay, one word from me: shocked.

Still, we do have plenty of choice at centre-back and now with Sonko gone it leaves Pearce with more of a chance to claim his place in the Starting XI.
