Just for a Fun Comparison

Games 7-43

1 Reading P37 25-06-6 : : 18 Clean Sheets : : 61-29 GD +32 81 Points 2.19 ppg 2011-12
1 Reading P37 25-11-1 : : 18 Clean Sheets : : 80-26 GD +54 86 Points 2.32 ppg 2005-06

That this rebuilt side could match the record-breakers for wins over this period is quite remarkable.

The noticeable difference is how Coppel's team could get draws from defeats

These last 5 games have been unbelievable.

H WON 3-1 Blackpool
A WON 4-2 West Ham
H WON 2-0 Leeds
A WON 1-0 Brighton
A WON 3-1 Southampton

13-4
Corrected, ta.

Seriously, before kick-off every game was thoroughly losable
and we were away to three of the best sides in this division
and (at times) totally outplayed.

weybridgewanderer Hunt gets an assist for not touching the ball

Sheer Genius

If there was any further evidence needed that these "stats" are completely arbitrary and, quite frankly, barmy

You really don't understand how a game can be seen as losable?

Before the game, going away to Southampton, West Ham or Brighton, you find it hard to imagine how those sides might win?

Second...

Predicting a win is not courageous.

Predicting a defeat is not cowardly.

Some people can actually try to make honest judgments.

They made honest judgments and had the courage to predict a result that wasn't

"RFC always win, and to say they won't makes you a tosser"

4-0 Defeat Wax Jacket
3-1 Defeat SWLR
3-1 Defeat Mr Angry
3-1 Defeat chillipepper91
3-1 Defeat Tails
2-0 Defeat KC Royal
1-0 Defeat Man Friday
2-1 Defeat TBM
3-2 Defeat Arch

If Ledge doesn't play we'll lose. That Friday Feeling
Nailed on Saints win Avon Royal

And there were a shed-load of draw-predictions. IOW there ARE people with brains on this board.

But according to you, these people are COWARDS?

To be fair Snowy my negative prediction was only made for superstitious reasons. I thought we'd get a draw.

Maguire is hardly Mystic Meg (and apparently, like those he criticises above, he's an occasional "coward"

Maguire
Doncaster (A) - W WRONG 1-1

Coventry (H) - W

Derby (A) - D WRONG
Burnley (H) - W
Middlesbrough (A) - L WRONG ("Cowardly Prediction"?)
Millwall (A) - W

Maguire Saints 0-1 Royals Pearce

Wrong Score, wrong scorer

Maguire
Last 6 Prediction

W 3 D 2 L1 (isn't that cowardice?)

In any combination, every game is the same tbh.

In any combination? You meant we could lose any one of those six games?

ie every one of those games is eminently losable, Mags?

I remember when the jibe was "RFC can't beat top-six sides."

We've played 7 of the current top 9 away and won 5 out of 7. That is AWESOME

2 3-1 Won Away at Southampton
3 4-2 Won Away at West Ham
7 1-0 Won Away at Brighton
8 2-0 Won Away at Middlesbro
9 2-0 Won Away at Leicester

5 0-1 Lost Away at Blackpool (Totally good goal disallowed)

6 1-3 Lost Away at Cardiff (We were poor)

15 Points from 7 Away games = 2.14 ppg

JC
RoyalX Snowball, what was the biggest points difference ever between us and Southampton & West Ham?

I might be able to help there. After we lost to Cardiff on 19th November we were 18 points behind Saints and 13 behind WHU

Thanks. That we've been 7 wins better to the other team that'll get promoted over that period is astonishing.

What's your point, that I can't predict the result and scorer of every game we play in? Well no shit.

Better having a stab at it than churning reams of "statistics", half of which you've completely invented, refusing to even make a prediction because you clearly haven't got a fooking clue what you're talking about, and then getting defensive because those of us who said four points from the last four games was a ridiculous statement are looking completely correct.

I do appreciate the way you always reply to my posts three times though, it's like having a really obedient cat.

Point 1 was you predicted defeats but said others who did so were cowards.

Point 2 was you predicted we would lose 1 from the last six but it might be ANY one of the 6
(thus making all of the six games losable and equally so, which is precisely what I said,
and you criticised me for it.

Maguire Better having a stab at it than refusing to even make a prediction because you clearly haven't got a fooking clue what you're talking about,

Of course, Mags, I never make predictions.

Snowball
I was worried sick about the away game at West Ham
but now that's over, here's what I think

We'll at least W2 D1 of our home games (I worry about Forest now)
and W1 D1 L1 away (at least) and finish on 87 Points or higher.

That's THREE predictions

3-1 Leeds Home WON
2-1 Brighton Away WON
1-1 Southampton Away WON

(Above) That's another three

And he's three more

1-1 Forest Home (They have found some form, but we might still beat them)
3-0 Palace Home
0-1 Birmingham Away

I'd most like the away win to be at Southampton, WON
but for me it's random, WDL for the three games, any selection.

And here (below) is yet another prediction (put it along side my "RIDICULOUS" prediction
way back, that we were the best side in the league since game 6 and would end
up on 86 points. (Sorry that I appear to have underestimated ...)

IF, we are going into the Birmingham game and it MATTERS (to us) (eg we need to win or draw to win the league) then we'll get the required result

and then getting defensive because those of us who said four points from the last four games was a ridiculous statement are looking completely correct.

Perhaps that's because i didn't say it?

I was talking about SOMEONE ELSE who said losing to Brighton would be disastrous
and explaining HOW it COULD BE disastrous.

MY predictions were that we would get AT LEAST 4 POINTS from our last 3 away, and at least 7 points from our last 3 at home

In case you can't count, that was "at least 11 points" from the last six.
