guelphdad When is the last time the Royals have been in this spot to go up? I know they won the division and were automatically promoted in 05-06, but they haven't fared well in their other promotion playoff attempts from what I remember.

Best of luck against Swansea.

Hi Guelphdad. Lovely part of Canada!

It should be a cracking game against Swansea and we should 'put to bed' all previous memories of play-off disappointment. We have the better Manager (!) and the stronger team spirit. It is our destiny! (Yeah, a bit over the top, perhaps....)

Say hi to Guelph from me!

At this level 1995. Play off final v Bolton. Painful memories even though we played some lovely stuff that day.

Dave Jones dignified in defeat and has sent champagne into the Reading dressing room. Nice gesture Dave.

I don't feel sorry for Cardiff as a club, or the players... But do feel sorry for Dave...

Great gesture.

United play in the Champions League final two days before the Play off final. So you've got a 50-50 chance of success.

Absolutely delighted tonight, Watched it in my local, the EC, Unthank Rd, Norwich, everyone shaking my hand at the end. The whole pub erupted when the third went in, mainly because nobody likes Cardiff tbf.

Or, indeed, some of our fans who were singing about him on Friday night.

And with a week and a half to go hopefully we'll be back up to full speed in terms of players available.

The whole team was superb tonight. Jobi's goal was an utter thing of beauty. Shane worked his butt off as usual. Mills, Khiz, Ledge, Jem...they were all fantastic, the whole team. :D

The whole of Chesterfield heard me cheer when that third goal went in.....and they can all f**k off about League 1....we are going to Wembley and to the Prem. The Final in 1995 was the best game of football I've ever seen live, but it was also one of the worst days ever. As for 2001...I don't even want to think about it.......I'm excited but bloody nervous already!! UUUURRRRZZZZ!!!!

Totally, totally nervewracking experience having the match on a rolling screenticker on my computer at work. A total rerun of the match on telly here tonight and I will have to book my flight tomorrow!

Now we need to break the PO final voodoo. URZ!!!

Great away performance although even at 2-0 it was hard to feel comfortable. Everyone worked hard and we toally deserved the win. Cummings in midfield? Again, a revelation. Not spectacular but did the basics well. Webb did a good reffing job, perhaps we were slightly fortunate but he certainly didn't fall for any of the nonsense we saw on Friday. On that performance we can beat Swansea.

Just a shame I was the only Royal in the pub but at least the neutrals were supporting Reading... or at least wanted Cardiff to lose.
