Royal Biscuitman Preston North End 18-0 Reading, our biggest defeat.

Why was that embarrassing?

We were a team of amateurs who played for fun, Preston North End were professionals and founder members of the Football League, in which they'd finished first, first, second and second in the previous 4 seasons.

Nothing to be embarrassed about in such a mis-match there.

It was embarrasing, because it was only 1-0 at half-time, then a downpour came in the second half, and Preston literally ran away with it cos they had studs on their boots, Reading didn't, so we were sliding around everywhere as THEY SCORED 17 IN 45 MINUTES!!!

well at least we did better than Hyde FC whom Preston beat 26-0 a few years before putting 18 past Reading.

If we lose to Tredders shite then surely that's the worst ever run of results. We are already up to the worst start of a season since 1958? can it get any worse???
Anton........... welcome to the Madejski way and how it doesn't work in the Premiership. You are looking pretty stupid or is the manager out of his league ?? Sort it out either MCD has to go or feck Madejski out of your ears both aint working ! or in Russia is this success you were told like Portsmouth

Was heading that way particularly if they scored a deserved 4th or 5th but nothing, nothing can beat the Bristol Rovers drubbing.....yet!

Not even close. Boro were brilliant. Wimbledon on boxing day far worse.

it was 7-0 at half-time, not 1-0.

I do think losing at home to Bishop's Stortford is the most embarrassing score ever, but tonight's is certainly one of the most disgraceful. I'd have sent the team bus back early and made the players find their own way home.

I always thought Bishops Stortford was an all time low but we were a crap third division team at the time. I think this tops it.

I think this has to be the worst, if only because of the modern day and immediate trial by Worldwide Media. When we lost to Bishop's Stortford, the press coverage was minute to rolling -ticker-instant updates on a global scale that this one was. Certainly trending on Twitter for negative reaons is embarassing.

The only time I've ever felt more embarassed as a Reading fan in 28 years supporting them is when we lost to Macclesfield Town 2-1 in 1998/1999. I was there when we lost to Bristol Rovers, but we were such a shambles at the time that it didn't really embarass.

Add this one, a team who haven't won this season

Well done Nigel your away game tactics are stunning beyond belief.

One clean sheet away from home in 32 matches  (Although there are a few BM games in that

Oh well at least we have next season to look forward too, Madejski harping on about "cutting the clothe" ,
