I cannot stand the idea of Di Canio being our manager. But let me say that this has little to do with his fascism. The fascist political philosophy--as opposed to its representation by the Mussolini government--has many good points. I actually quite liked Di Canio as a player, particularly that moment when he picked the ball up rather than score after an opponent got injured. But I have been following his career and his interviews as manager of Swindon, and he has come over as a dangerous egomaniac, dragging the club through one crisis after another purely of his own making. I simply disagree with that method of "managing" human beings in 2013, and though I can see a rule of fear potentially leading to short-term success on the field, it is certain also to lead to tears and collateral damage.

If Di Canio does get the job, I will not stop supporting Reading--there is a bit more to my loyalty than that--and in fact I will look forward to a colourful and probably entertaining interval in our history; but I will be surprised if I change my mind from thinking the bloke is an utter helmont of the first order.

Jeez. Evidently if anything ever goes wrong anywhere he's managing, it'll never be HIS fault.

There's a missing part to this interview. It goes:

"Unless West Ham want me, then you can all oxf*rd off"

Royalwaster Ok let's say it is PDC and he manages to get 5 wins from last 9 games and we stay up - will any of those who have been crying about McD being sacked and cursing PDC be renewing their STs? I don't like PDC and I hate fascists, but then I don't like most footballers and I still chear them if they score for Reading ...

I don't have a season ticket. But what I'll do is grumble about a man I don't think should have got the Reading job, be disapproving of him in general, try to enjoy any success he brings and get on his back the second he puts a foot wrong if he continues to behave like a batcrap crazy egotistical facist.

Doesn't he also say that he wants to go and watch some games in the Champ and Prem - could be that there's really nothing to this rumour at all and it's just media speculation?

Why would he need to ?, should any future Reading manager mention them before he is accepted by the fans

How many of our average gate are on facebook/here?

Also there's quite a good chance that he won't come as a manager. And when that's added to the fact that most people are apathetic bastards in general I think it's quite a good effort.
