floyd__streeteUkeharry So Drenthe is a Turtle.
He enjoys touching cloth
I'd always thought that 'Touching Cloth' would be a great name for a wedding dress shop.

urz13 Ok, we can't afford him, but making him train with the reserve is pretty harsh on the guy.

Elm Park Kid I can only assume that he's on some massive appearance bonus as otherwise our behaviour doesn't make sense. I'm pretty sure we'd like Pog off our wage bill as well but we haven't been shunning him. Why wouldn't you put Drenthe in the shop window whilst we're paying his wages anyway?

The potential he showed when at Feyenoord in 06/07 when he was arguably their best player that season, certainly their equivalent of our Jordan Obita this year (along with Georginho Wijnaldum), then the Dutch U21 player that was a first choice full back in the 2007 U21 European Chhampionship winning side, and the ability to seal a multi-million euro move to Real Madrid. He may not have been up to their standard, ultimately we'll never know if he really was because he p*ssed his opportunity up the wall there.
Care for more detail? Ok, I saw this man play for Feyenoord the day after our 3-1 win at Bolton in April 2007. Ok, it was only one game, but he was the standout player for me at left back in a team that included Wijnaldum, Vlaar, De Guzman and Van Hooijdonk. I watched the same man on the tellybox in the Dutch U21's that same year, he was the standout player again. Sadly, you can have all the ability in the world but if you don't apply yourself and allow the hype to go to your head then you'll never make it at elite level. He clearly has ability mate. He just doesn't have the attitude or application to complement it.
