Snowflake Royal I'd assumed it was incompetence rather than deliberate, but that makes sense.

Would explain why Rino's been a shadow of himself from last season too. And why Pele still looks clueless.

We're absolutely in this game, and are a little unlucky not to be back even. But I see nothing better from Gomes.

Bet Swift comes straight back in for Pele or Rino.

I'm positive it is instructed. In fact in the second half they started closing down in pairs in midfield. Start the oxf*rd game like that Jose. Christ.

That’s the other thing wrong with it. Games are never started in the front foot, there is nothing but tepid slow plodding possession played while the opposition race about and press and force Reading into mistakes. Sir Steve and Brian would be spitting feathers over that sort of approach.

It’s idiotic. Why can’t Gomes see this? It also means the atmosphere at the ground is so flat.

An alleged £13m spent on two players in the summer, can you spot who they are...

genome Start season like shit. Sack manager. Do the bare minimum to stay up. Rinse and repeat

It's so boring

Yes I think so. We can’t keep fighting relegation and narrowly escape. We had a decade of being very strong at this level but that changed five years ago. Now we are perennial strugglers 16/17 not withstanding.

Bring back the Reading Way! Spending big never works for us. Let’s go back to bringing in players on the up who feel privileged to play for Reading

I think the majority of us just want to see the players giving there all, and winning more regularly

Dreadful ratings for our strikers. Yet again the big money signings prove to be huge flops.

I don’t believe either are bad players. Every club in the champ would have taken Puscas and Joao whilst inconsistent, had a decent record for Weds

Keep banging on but we don’t play to their strengths. Get crosses in early, quicker players (ie Baldock) playing off them

Sticking them up top in a 2 with each other or Boye (who looks talented but also misused) and no wingers is really not the way - and they’ve clearly lost confidence

Getting on their backs certainly isn’t going to help.

There was a short section in the second half where we saw the strengths of the tactics Gomes employs. The movement from flank to flank was superb but we had no final ball. At all. Swift seems to be the only one we have capable of that. On that basis I say oxf*rd it. Let's go classic Brazilian.
4-2-2-2

-------------------Rafael
Yiadom--Miazga---Morrison--Richards
-------Rinomhota---Pele
---------------Ejaria---Swift
---------------Meite---Joao

Brian's whole thing was starting badly and winning with two late goals!

Wonder if he has the balls to swallow his pride and play Baldock up front or put him on the bench. He can't do much worse and would have quite a point to prove.

Snowflake Royal Wow. What an effort from Boye.

Matched by the save unfortunately

Yep, that was a fine shot, and then a fine save.
Hoping that Boye will now kick on from here.

Doubt it, it was the one decent piece of end product from him in the game.

Other than that it was a lot of flash Charlie and then awful pass / lose the ball.

Puscas and Pele look like league 2 players at the moment.

Early in the first half yiadom was screaming something at puscas for about 30 seconds and he just stood with his hands on his hips laughing. Im not sure he's interested

The amount of hype surrounding Puscas has been ridiculous. Technically he is of lower division standard. His ball control is dreadful. His finishing is poor as he seems to want to blast the ball into the back of the net.
He is dreadful in the air constantly mistiming his jumps or making a token effort at winning a header.

Maybe his head has been turned by the supposed interest from abroad.

I'd laugh if I was a pro and Yiadom started telling me how to play football tbf.

Yiadom will always be Yiadom. He was massively overrated last season and now people are starting to notice his deficiencies. Whilst he is better than Gunter, the difference between them isn’t too large
