morganb The above has been debunked on Twitter as fake.

People have been searching here:

https://www.thegazette.co.uk/company/00053703

Nothing like the above shows up

Can you show me the debunking? I worked for the Insolvency Service. Something would only show up in the London Gazette once a court order has been made, i.e. a judge agrees to the winding up petition.

An agreed to winding up petition is then advertised in the London Gazette so that other creditors can come forward and make a claim in the insolvency proceedings. There are at least 6 weeks between a winding up petition being agreed to, and a creditors report made by the insolvency practitioner.

That person is looking at a HM Courts and Tribunals Serivce case record database. If its not a fake, which seems unlikely, the use Chris Errington is a football journalist.....then its HMRC logging their case in the system, it doesnt mean it has been heard by a judge yet and agreed to.

Hope it's true. Appoint administrators, find a buyer, fcuk off Dai. L2 almost certain but all I really care about is a change in ownership right now. We'd recover.

A winding up order, if successful (it usually isn't with football clubs), ends the club. It doesn't put us into administration.

Sorry, looks like things have moved on over on Twitter this afternoon - I was basing it being fake off earlier posts ( for example https://twitter.com/aabiscuit/status/16 ... 1178200066 ) but there seem to be more people now saying it is real. Thanks for the info above, interesting to know how it all works.

When we were in the Premier League, people said “relegation won’t be so bad, we’ll win more games, use academy players, and eventually bounce back stronger.”

After a few years that became “relegation to League One won’t be so bad, we’ll win more games, use academy players, and eventually bounce back stronger.”

We haven’t even played our first game in League Two, and you’re already saying that it would be worth risking the entire future of the club so we could have a better chance at getting relegated?

If Dai stays and we stay in business, the worst thing that can happen next season is relegation to League Two. So you’re hoping we receive a winding-up order and get put into administration in order to avoid the possibility that something better than the worst case scenario happens?

I keep saying this but I’m going to ignore twitter from now on unless it’s something official from the club or the EFL.

My understanding is all monies owed to HMRC was paid on 23/06.

Winding up order dated 20th, so very likely true.

And that's precisely why HMRC issue them. There's nothing like a Winding Up Petition to focus the mind of a debtor.
