Seems like Wycombe were also denied permission to play Church. Coppell planning on paying Gylfi and him in the third round then?

Doubt it, probably just a precaution.

I must say this lad looks a hell of a prospect. Not so much for the saves but it hought the command of his area and also his kicking in treachorous (sp) conditions was excellent. He looks more the real deal than Mr Federici i must say.

Sigurdsson is returning to us when his months loan expires at Shrewsbury after their match on Friday. We have turned down their request to extend it.

Seems an odd move unless Coppell is inteding to use him.........

That does seem strange, perhaps a league 1 or c'ship side are interested in taking him on loan.

I'm interested in what line up Coppell is going to play in the FA cup. I predict all the loanees recalled and played in an ex-loanee mega side.

I thought about that as I was writing it. But Gylfi and Church are still available. Umm any others?

Presumably the club seeks feedback about their experiences from the players on loan, especially the youngsters. Could be something negative in the way he was treated or asked to play.

Sigurdsson going back to Royals
Reading have turned down Shrewsbury's request to extend the loan spell of Iceland Under-21 midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson at the Prostar Stadium.

Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I'd like to have kept him for another month, but Reading want him back."

Simpson - who previously had Leyton Orient's Sean Thornton on loan - will look elsewhere for a midfielder.

Sigurdsson's final game for Shrewsbury will be at Chesterfield on Friday.

Does seem weird, why would we need him, FA Cup games aren't around until Jan so back to reserve football...

Gylfi wanted to stay longer too. He's not ready for his driving test yet!

How many games has he played? Has he been coming off the bench more than starting? Might be a reason along those lines that Reading are not satisfied about.

This might sound a bit dence, but can he play for another team this year? Isn't there a rule about the number of teams you can play for in a calendar year, or is that simply just for permanent signings? I've never been very familiar with the rule to be fair.

Personally I would have liked to have kept him out on loan gaining first team experience in what's a competitive side trying to win promotion.

With Cisse, Marek, Harper, Gunnarsson, and Karacan, I can't see him being anywhere near the first team.
