loyalroyal4life According to today's Evening Standard Hunt is off to Spurs!!!

He is seen as next in line after Downing and will be part of plan of Redknapps to sign 5 players over next 3 weeks

This could turn out to be a very bad window for us if we loose hunt and lita and replace them with crap

Or it could turn out to be a very good one if they are replaced with better players, in all honesty I reckon for £6million in fees recieved Reading could spend that and replace both.

I agree fully AP but i think the key word is 'COULD' spend. I am not saying we will not spend at all just feel that the players they may go for as replacements may not prove to be as decent as s.hunt or even lita!!

We are very unlikely to spend big money as that is not our MO but I have no reason to doubt that the replacement bought would do the job - Hunt was barely a high profile signing when we got him.

I think he is only being lined up as back up for Hunt. If Hunt actually left, I expect we'll get someone who is a tad better.

BBC Website Reading chalked up five straight wins, and Hunt netted his eighth goal of the season in the victory against Norwich.

Did he?
Another piece of shoddy journalism

Err, yes, yes he did. 7 for Reading and 1 for Ireland - the 8th goal of the season being against Norwich.

Did it again, read Norwich as Watford, did that quite a few times during the game on friday too

glass half full I hope that we do not have to lose Hunty but if we have to scout around for other players, we could do much worse than enquire about Ross Wallace at Preston, although I doubt very much if they would want him to go.

Especially since they've only just signed him permanently in this window.

Is that like the very bad window when we lost Kitson, Shorey and Sonko and replaced them with ......... hang on, that dioesn't seem too bad at the moment. Maybe the Club actually know what they're doing.

I'd prefer we looked at Gower of Swansea (preferably before he causes any trouble on Saturday)

I get your point but although the players we have replaced them with are good, the team arent even a shadow of that team 3 yrs ago- plus the football has been more boring. we wouldnt last in the prem with this squad

mmm
Far too plausible
Spurs look desperate for somebody like Hunt at the moment to complement their more delicate players.

Here we are, top goalscorers in the country, sat in 2nd place averaging 2pts a game :|

This side isn't quite up to the standards of 3 years ago but calling it "not even a shadow" of that team is just ridiculous.

The current team is actually more attack minded than the 2005/6 team as we have scored more goals this season so far! There are a lot of myths about 05/06. Many of the games were very close 1-0's or 2-1's, there were a lot of bore draws and with an odd thrashing thrown in. I think we scored 5 on 5 occasions and 4 on 2 occasions (33 goals). This season we have scored 4 on 4 occasions and 6 once (22 goals) so we are likley to get even more high scores if we carry on at that rate that til the end of the season.

Admittedly the 05/06 team was better defensivly over the season as we let in very few goals but this team is just as exciting going forwards.
