God I miss Downes and Dillon, we genuinly do feel like a plastic club now, at least Coppell, Dillon and then later Downes gave us some feeling of 'history' all be it only a couple of years

Unless Leicester really hammer us, I think he's got until the Ipswich match. Lose that, to a relegation rival, and I can't see how he can stay.


I really wanted him to do well, being Reading through and through, but he's been an unmitigated disaster. Things now appear to have reached that "comically bad" level. When the crowd gets its joy from losing, and the players stop looking like they want to play any more, it is pretty much terminal.

I never thought I would find myself saying this but Rodgers deserves at least one more game. For the first time in ages I saw (very) encouraging signs including, most of all, commitment/effort/desire. Rodgers is right, if we play like that every game, we'll win more than we lose (assuming our luck turns e.g. shot goes 6" inside the post rather than 6" outside, etc). I was also impressed with the way he conducted himself. However, if we revert to form at Coventry (shambles, no desire, etc) then he's got to go, and I think he will (courtesy of Madejski).

Agreed - last night was definitely an improvement - so we need more of the same in the next 2 games - anything other than a win against Ipswich should see BR go though imo. As for his comments that "we won't get relegated" - how bloody stupid do you have to be??? It's reminiscent of "We Won't Be Next" on the scoreboard before the games in our second season in the Prem, and we all know what happened there. I'd be more than happy for BR to have a media blackout and not talk to them for the next few weeks tbh, as all he does is say "you know" and try and tell us that he's taken a lot of positives and we're just lacking in the final third of the pitch - we're not m8. Please do your talking via the players on the pitch - please get them to practice set pieces until they're doing them in their sleep, please get them to know backwards where they should be positioned when the opposition have a set piece. THEN we might see some improvement and if there are any plaudits to take, you can take them.
