Lol denying this Liverpool side lacks class. They are going through a bad run but its pretty much the same bunch of players who pushed Man Utd to the wire last season.

Same side but with Carra looking a bit past it, no Arbeloa and no calming influence of Hypia to fill in at times

Same side but without Alonso pulling the strings, no Reira performing well on the problem left side and with a Steven Gerrard who seems to be struggling to live up to last years heroics

Its not miles away from the team of last season, but I dont think its half as good, especially on form

Form is poor but I wouldn't bet against them finishing in the top four.
Their form wasn't that special prior to winning the Champions League either.
I certainly agree they are missing Alonso though. No doubt about that. I would say though that Lucas is playing well for them and that Torres is getting back to full fitness which they haven't always been able to rely on.

Compared to us, and most of the Premiership they are a class above

They arent close to the side they were though, but like you say, a lot of that is form, albeit season long form

I suppose one of the best benchmarks is the fact that they best a very strong Villa side, 4 days before we played them.

In a game they really should have lost

hiro Saw the game also on TV here in Japan (Live coverage started 2:10AM!), and I was pretty impressed how Reading plays against five times European champion.
It was rare opportunity for non-UK resident to see Reading players joined last Summer in the game, and to be honest, I thought we play much better than I can imagined from comments in Hob Nob last 5 months.
Well, I can now stop worry about religation matter, as long as Royals are capable of showing that level of performance.
I still much prefer team of 2005-06 season and it was joy to watch Royals against WBA in FA cup that year. Pure magic football for me.
Now I feel like saying; Happy New Year to all!

What a load of bollocks! Would you rather Reading get relegated and lose all it stars ( Siggy, Karacan and McAnuff ) than watching them play great football? I would rather survive this horror season than to play nice football TBH.

Er, I think he means that if we play like we did against Liverpool for the remaining league games we won't have to worry about being relegated. Seems fair enough to me.

Indeed! Thanks Avon Royal-san.

depends on your definition of class... Class compared to the Championship? Hell yes. Class compared to what they would be expected to have and have had recently? Hell no.
