loyalroyaldaz Well according to old JM in the Chronicle this week there is no buyout any time soon.
He has brought out the old "Deep Pockets" line again.
WTF is going on? Three bidders and Zilch......

So would you rather have the club taken over by the cowboy dancing up and down firing his guns into the air, or the bloke wringing his hands and laughing maniacally?

The point is we have no idea how crap these bids were.

cowboy dancing, bit of bull riding or even a stampede through the lower west concourse with Dolly Parton singing the USA national anthem...Mint would love to see the golden gamble going on with all that around it

We've seen by the appointment of Anton, the "right buyer" has little to do with integrity. "Not right for the club" read: didn't offer enough money.

Totally fair enough, of course. Just not really worth a medal.

Anton lives! - on 20 January he provided a quote about the appointment of a new Vice President at his Hockey club. Looks like it was written by the press team though as it sounds like everyone elses.

"We plan to actively develop commercial direction of the club, we have many new and exciting projects for the next season. I think we're pleased to please our partners and, of course, our fans, "- said the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Moscow Region club Anton Zingarevich.

Getting balder too.

Worth noting with Atlant he's quoted as being 'constantly in touch', rather than actually being there.

SJM making this statement gives the club some stability, but sadly without new ownership, and perhaps even with new ownership, if we don't go up this season, we will have to sell 3-4 high earners and reduce the overall size of the squad. I don't expect it to be as dramatic as some fear,. More concerning for me is the return of the annual black hole and the restraints that puts on us in the transfer market. It may impact us less next season, but for the seasons after it will be very frustrating once again, unless investment does come our way. Watch the newer STH's drop away next season though!

Speculating as to the complete and utter disappearance of AZ...

Has he had a breakdown of some sort? SJM is in touch with the family, but it appears not AZ himself, it also appears the same for his other "interests"

Charles Watts: "Yes Madejski has made mistakes, not least deciding to sell 51 per cent of his shares in the club to Anton Zingarevich. But can you imagine if he'd have sold 100 per cent of the club to Zingarevich? Where would Reading been now if that had happened?"

Er, that's what he was trying to do you f/cking droolwipe.

Anton seems happy enough to talk to the Russian press about his Ice Hockey team, so I don't think we can let him off the hook with having a break down. We'll probably never know what he did, or why he pulled out/was forced out, but I strongly suspect it wont be anything as innocent as realising it was all too costly, or getting bored ("football is his obsession").

What's the latest quote you can find from him about his ice-hockey team? Most of that was before August.

I looked for the latest mentions using his Russian spelling Антон Зингаревич

The only references on Google appear to be about Блэкпул this year and the press release statement written for him that maffff quoted earlier

As I said and similar to all comments when Reading have spoken about it - he's quoted as being 'constantly in touch', rather than actually being there for Atlant.

Like he said it sounds very much like a press release. Can you supply any evidence of him even leaving his house since August? Anything directly attributable to him being present somewhere, anywhere?

Anton actually died in September. The system has become self aware.

Can't wait for summer. JM announcing he's "the man" again is like sticking a waving inflatable tube man on the stadium roof for all the other clubs to see.
