Barry the bird boggler We can still miss out, we have only guaranteed 3rd place so far..... therefore please bump this again after Tuesday or Saturday or Saturday week.

True, but even the world's greatest pessimist er...

Have we checked all the player registrations?

Disagree. Even if we lose the last three, I can't see WHU overtaking us.

He's still right though. Promotion isn't guaranteed yet.

NOW

1 43 +29 85 Reading
2 43 +34 82 Southampton
3 42 +25 76 West Ham

WHU win their next 3 games by 1 goal and we lose our next two games 0-1

1 45 +28 85 West Ham
2 45 +27 85 Reading

Even if we win one game 1-0 and lose the other one 1-0

1 45 +29 88 Reading
2 45 +28 85 West Ham

Would mean a defeat at Birmingham and a win for WHU would leave us third

We still really need a win Tuesday night and WHU dropping points.

Naturally we are expecting, 2, 3, 4, or 6 points from our last two home games
but clubs have blown such positions, I'm sure.

The good thing is we have 3 chances to win it ourselves and 4 chances for WHU to let us win.

They absolutely HAVE TO win 3 from 4 to have the slightest squeak, while hoping we slip up

Perhaps that's why we are 66/1 ON for promotion (and a ridiculous 6-1 on to be champions)

There's a fair chance RFC could lose at Birmingham (not saying they will)

If we did lose there (say 2-0)

1 44 +27 85 Reading
2 43 +34 82 Southampton ("With a Game in Hand").

Southampton are 4-1 for The Championship.

We're not there yet and WHU have effectively gained 4 points on us today with the goal diff.

One slip up in one of our 2 home games and it could really be squeaky bum time - Cardiff looked up last season and had a mad result at home to Middlesboro (3 down in 15 mins I think) and never recovered.

The injury situation isn't great either with three midfielders out and Roberts went off yesterday - does anyone know what the score is with that?

Having said that I think Southampton are under real pressure now and luckily for us there are now 2 sides that have to overhaul us.

floyd__streete Peterborough 0-2 West Ham.

That is absolutely typical Reading FC, bottling it like this in the run-in.

Useless

Last 5 games... 5 wins...yeah, RFC really bottled it !!

I'm not exactly relaxed either. There's still a way to go. I can't stand the complacency/gloating on this board. Drop points on Tuesday and it will all look very different.

It oxf*rd' ain't over yet. Plenty of time for bottling it. Professional bottling is all about getting the timing right.

As long as it's only two points dropped it's no problem - we'll beat Palace - I'm going with my mate a Palace fan

I didn't say it was over. Read my post. I said RFC haven't bottled it. Please tell me where you think RFC have bottled it !!!
I know it isn't over. My post was to CONFIRM that, to date, RFC have NOT bottled it. Tell me where you think we have !!

I am glad it is not us going to Bristol on tuesday, a win would make them safe, we win and Forest can also be safe, so long as Coventry lose or draw, I think.

Can I add that a resounding singing of you are staying up to the Forest fans, would be sporting, and might put the players off if they feel safe. Come on Millwall

FiNeRaIn Not shocked to see you agreeing with an idiot tbh.

Anyway if you two want to post constructively please continue contributing.

There are some easily amused kids on here today.

Come off it. You invited the abuse. Mind you, it is Spring so gardening will be high on your list of things to do. I look forward to seeing you dig yourself a few more holes.

I don't believe for a second that you or man friday are anywhere near as confident you are making out, if so, you obviously haven't been watching Reading for as long as some here, we always get oxf*rd out of it.

I would LOVE absolutely LOVE to be wrong and be called out for this post in the summer.

You're being called out. But look, I have to admit. I'm so glad you're wrong for so many different reasons.

You can lay Reading on the promotion bet at 1.08 on Betfair.

In layman's terms, this means you risk £8, and get £100 back if Reading somehow manage to miss out on promotion this season (including through playoffs). A good insurance policy perhaps, but also shows how strongly we are favoured by the bookies. The odds of us going up are now 1.06 (1/18)
