Given our apparent difficulties in finding a half decent replacement (if you believe everything in the media and Royal Lady - which I don't), you'd have to say that the timing was all wrong.

Give it to Dolan until the end of the season, then invite candidates to apply. It's the most sensible solution and gives ED a chance to prove his worth. If Zingarevich thinks we can stay up, he's in for a nasty shock.

Why are you bringing me into this? I don't know anything other than what I've read on here/twitter/newspapers - but it seems that Poyet turned us down and Adkins isn't interested from what I've read. If AZ REALLY wanted Adkins and Adkins REALLY wanted to be here, don't you think he'd have been installed by now?

Now that the "no" vote is winning does that mean Brian will be automatically reinstated?

Maguire
Ian Royal He may well have done a good job in the Championship next season despite the problem of turning around a team in bad form and low in confidence. But we'd probably be playing the same sort of football and we've seen it doesn't work in the Premier League

He's already turned around a team in bad form and low in confidence.

And we're going down, so if we play "the same type of football" then that's fine by me as it won us the league title.

That was as the person with the fresh perspective, fresh ideas and different way of playing.

But it's proved to fail at a higher level so there's no point getting promoted with it as we'll just be shit and go straight back down again.

Yes. We were flatlining. Two defeats without much fight against two of our nearest rivals, bereft of ideas, going nowhere. It was worth the change to see if we could survive. I'm not convinced at all by the arguments that BM would have taken us straight back up, and if we are going down anyway I don't see the value in keeping him in if we were going to sack him at the end of the season. At least I now feel a degree of uncertainty about the games coming up (even Arsenal with their in and out form) rather than the deep sense of gloom I felt for the rest of the season. I am still sure we are going down, but a little glint of light has appeared, meaning that the trapdoor is not firmly shut on us yet.

I do love though that a number of the people kicking off now about having no manager, are some of the same ones who kicked off about the disgrace of BM being sacked cos someone else had been tapped up to replace him, you can't have it both ways. And as for the BM was a long serving employee, deserved more respect etc etc. I could see this if he had stayed in the background (and there is no doubt his service to RFC was excellent) but moving into that managerial hotseat altered his position at the club, and his job security. He willingly moved into the hottest seat at this or any club, and this (along with the staff) is the seat where there is, and should not be, any place for sentiment. Can you really see any other organisation letting a manager who is effecting negative team performance, remain in a job cos he is a nice guy and has put in ten years of hard graft? I will always respect what he did but he had to go I'm afraid.

The right choice to let Brian go. Probably should have waited until the summer though

Yes - hundreds of thousands of companies the world over. It would be a much harder task to think of an organisation that sack a manager so soon after a change in fortune.

Ideal ..do you honestly think we would be where we are now?

Just asking.

Perhaps he should've been banging the Owners door down demanding more money instead of doff'ing his cap and suggesting we stick with what we had then?

Where ever BM ends up he will need time to get it right. Leeds would be a nightmare for him. They want it all and they want it today.
