Maguire NEW EVIDENCE

Saw a picture from the Debry match which featured Blackman applauding the fans at the end.

Where does this leave us :?:

A level of contrition? A sign of appreciation? That he'd said his piece and moved on already?

Doesn't mean the earlier celebration wasn't a message to the fans does it?

i also saw him applauding the fans who applauded him during the last home game where he was supoosedly bood and jeered. seemd pretty happy with his reception
but tbf that was in front of the north stand, where there is generally a better class of more knowledgeable fan

but i agree- the picture is certainly more muddy than is being made out by some

Hoop Blah
YateleyRoyal But you have also seen nothing to make you think there was that undercurrent, other than your own assumptions/beliefs peddled at you on here?

Obviously I've looked at the evidence available to me, ie the tv coverage of the celebration, and came to the opinion that he's tried to prove a point after scoring.

That's kind of how opinions work.

If I was shown anything to make me doubt that initial opinion I might reconsider it, but I haven't.

think teh point is that you have reached quite high levels of indignation about something you really cant know the facts about
and about which there seems to be much evidence contradictory to your opinion which need s to be at least considered

Much evidence? Go on then, show me some actual evidence brendy.

I'm not that bothered about the incident to be honest, I think he's daft to seemingly have got riled by a little abuse (which I don't condone) and even more daft to react in the way I believe he has, I'm more miffed by the reaction on here that his goal wasn't a bit crap and that his stare wasn't some form of rebuttal to the criticism he's had over his performances.

With nothing else of interest going on I'll debate that whilst others are putting forward alternative realities.

The tilehurst end sum it up nicely for me. spot on.

`After scoring the clincher, Blackman chose to look arrogantly at Reading fans, almost as though they were the s**t on his shoe. While I will never condone booing a player and am an advocate of encouragement while a player is on the pitch, players need to conduct themselves appropriately in the face of those fans voicing their opinion. Blackman has been out of his depth so far in his Reading career and it is, unfortunately, part of football that players who are substandard get booed.`

The words highlight prove that this is all rubbish. It is all based on someone's opinion of his action, not the action itself.

Whilst we have an opinion on his actions, his actions in this case take little interpretation and quite clearly stated "you hard working paying fans aren't worth the s**t on my shoe".

He's clearly wrong on one count.

The people getting on his back can't be hard working, seeing as they spend all their work hours on HNA....

Again, they don't clearly do anything. That's what you believe they do.

Who cares. It was a shit look anyway. Hardly 'Blue Steel'.

Tough game Saturday & last thing we need is to make one of our players a pantomime villain...

Was he even applauding the Reading fans Hoop Blah? Who knows where the clapping was directed. In fact he may not even have been clapping at all - it's a still photo so he might have been eg. rubbing his hands together in evil delight.

I think it's raised more questions than answers if anything.

tbh the fact you keep slating the nature of his finish suggests you're a bit of a hater

He took a ball on the run, under pressure, and put it in the back of the net. Don't criticise him for it.

HoneyRoastHoax You didn't ask a question pops, you did put a ? in your sentence but it didn't make sense as a question.

Try reading it again....known for it? Seems like a question to me.

Try adding a few more words in old timer and maybe I'll read it as a question.

People don't seem to realise that clapping is Blackman's standard way of calling people shitbags. He did it at Sheffield United all the time.
