MaCleary looks like he's bulked up too much on muscle while on the sidelines and has lost some of his athleticism as a result. He needs to go on some long runs, on his own while thinking about it, and do a bit of yoga to get his agility back.

You've got to feel that if Brian was in charge last night and we'd gone in at half time 1-0 up, that we'd go on to win.

Sorry for the rant - I was a bit pissed last night.

I stand by the fact the goal was world class though and if Blackz' free kick goes in off the bar then we'd have been laughing.

Good performance.

If Taylor hadn't gone off I reckon we'd have won. Just fcuked up our whole setup when Hec had to switch to RB. First half we looked like promotion contenders.

Another point worth making - Hull's 18 man squad cost over £50 million!! Ours put out yesterday was under £7 million.

If it takes £50 million to be a very lower middle table PL side that ends up relegated, we are stuffed if we ever get back up again!

Phew, £50 MILLION, and it's Hull BLOODY City!!!!

Hi LUX. Every now and then. I think it's good to remind yourself what brought you here in the first place.

Disregarding the capitulation, I was encouraged by the performance last night.

We were much the better side in the first half but lost our balance when Hector moved. Am I right in thinking Keown can play right-back? Maybe Kuhl thought it was too much to ask of him to come in there at that time, against a decent team, so decided to lose the grit Hector provided in the middle and put him to right-back. Either way, we missed him in the middle. He did the defensive work of Tshibola without the class on the ball, although that was sufficient to stifle Hull.

It was a great goal, too, but we were unlucky with both of theirs. I thought Bond played really well, he was unlucky to make two decent saves which ended in goals, although his foray outside the box was a little headless-chicken, although he was trying to do the right thing.

It was a disappointing result, to lose from a winning position, but it was a good performance and we were ultimately unlucky. Once Quinn and Tish are back and up to speed, and the new boss comes in, we can kick on again.

I've just seen Reading's goal from last night. Awesome goal. Can you imagine the furore if that was Neymar, Suarez and Messi involved in that?

It's such a shame the Reading fans decided to boycott the game last night that they didn't witness it live in the flesh.

Championship games aren't always sell-outs.

You'll see that first hand next year.

Unfortunately it appears that Martin Kuhl lost the plot last night and it cost us. Asked why he didn't bring Keown on when Taylor had to go off, he said:

"We spoke about it. But we’d already put Coops on, one young lad, would it have been right to stick on another young lad?"

No Martin, Taylor had to go off long before Ferdinand picked up yet another injury!

That's why Kuhl won't be manager of the first team-don't switch everybody around when the system is working, replace a player with a similar player even if he is young.
First half was good and a special goal.
Second half Hull dominated and we were unfortunate with injuries.
Has anybody said anything about Gunter turning his back when their player shot rather making a real effort to block the ball?
He had one of his better games last night but it's ironic that he got that cut through a very rare act of bravery.
Bond had his best game for us so far and there is hope that he might cement a place even if most of his kicks went straight into touch.
BTW if you listened to the commentators (who put a curse on him) you would think that Cooper had never played for the first team and had come straight from youth football.

Presumably Ferdinand will now be out for a season or two.

The only argument re: Keown would seem to be that Kuhl might not have thought Keown was up to it. In which case why even have him on the bench?

Bad decisions lost us the game.

The positives to take from the game though are numerous. When we are set up right and play with confidence, we are a great side with fantastic skill and quality all over the pitch. We just need someone who believes in the players and in the club to steady the ship.

That's why Brian is the right appointment. We could turn things around very quickly and still be in with a shout for the play-offs. The quality is there, we just need the confidence.

Re Bond; he was improved and made some useful saves.

His kicking is beyond atrocious though, it just gives back possession to the other team either trough kicking it to a hull player with a reading one no where in sight, or by kicking it straight out.

It was off a goal kick which went straight to them which kicked started a series of defensive mistakes which let them get the first.

He kept us in the game with a couple of saves I'll admit that, but I also think he could have done better with the goals, he wasn't directly at fault, but as with most things it's a combination of errors that usually result in something going wrong.

Showing exactly what he is at the moment, a promising youngster in need of experience and good coaching. I'm sure he'll get the right coaching here whether it's through Beasant or Bibbo.

Bond's definitely showing improvement, sure his kicking's as bad or worse than McCarthy's was and sure the handball was poor, but unlike early in the season when he just looked weak, made some costly mistakes and barely made a single save of note - he definitely pulled off some good saves against Hull.

The loss was a combination of a bad managerial decision which at least had some logic (throwing in a youngster that early when Hull had come out hard is not ideal) and lack of confidence from the players. They came out expecting to have Hull come at them and they just let them, and then panic cleared rather than putting their foot on it and doing what they'd done first half, which would have seen us get at least a point.

McDermott's got to organise them, get the blend and shape for the side right and the really big thing is lift their morale and give them confidence and belief again. They have to go out there looking and expecting to win tough encounters, but not only that they've got to want to go out, relax and enjoy expressing themselves.
