The understanding I have is that a fee and personal terms have both been agreed and its just a medical to pass now. Of course we probaby could e "Tommied" at the last minute again.

300k is the fee I've seen as well....

Oddly had Plymouth not signed a player they could not afford, they could have paid the taxman!

Could well be that wages are a problem for other clubs, year one will cost £800k for BWP. Plymouth need cash, we have it, so we get the man, as RR said back there, sound financial management, and we are ready to take advantage of it.

Another plus is the BWP could add competition to/cover for Kebe & McAnuff as he could play in wide-right attacking formation as part of 4-3-3 ... and unlike McA he can find the back of the net.

Personally i think Blackpool were just trying to get a player on the cheap who could fill a gap and be a decent enough back-up. Whereas we have probably more chance of offering him more first team football

You're in financial trouble and you can't pay tax who ya gonna call? Peter Ridsdale.

What a great advisor on avoiding financial woes.

Hopefully this is a key consideration for the player.

He's spent enough time over his career so far just sitting on the bench or going out on loan. He's also seen the way his brother has wasted nearly all his career at clubs where he can't get a game and hopefully he wants to go somewhere and play games and score goals.

soggy biscuit
Royal Lady Signing a striker for £300k and then saying "this is as good as it possibly could have got" just tells you everything about RFC these days tbh.

Just been trying to think why BWP would prefer coming to us over a Prem team.

BM may have a connection with Ian Wright from his Arsenal day's and as Wright Snr came to the Mad Stad a few times when Sir Steve was here, they may think this is a better environment for BWP to progress.

It wouldn't be difficult for Blackpool to beat us on the money and Premiership football front, but otherwise I think we have more to offer him (training facilities, stadium, coaching staff etc) or am I being biased?

Blackpool will probably go down this season, stepping up 2 leagues would be harder. We may not see it but RFC are still a decent club at this level, not too much expectation.

I wouldn't be too sure.....most of their money will go on improving the stadium and paying the players bonus' for staying in the league (if they do).....if they go down then they will struggle to get back up again

Blackpool have a wage cap of £10,000 a week. BWP wouldn't be in the top wage bracket there so it's more than likely that we have beaten them when it comes to wages.

Brett Pitman turned them down earlier in the season in favour of a move to Bristol City.....

Federici.

In all seriousness though it's pretty obviously going to be one of, probably both Hunt & Church. Maybe Long as well depending on how he does here.

Stranded I'm fully anticiapting the other to be Leigertwood on a perm deal until it's someone else.

why would BmcD have referred to it in on the radio the way he did if it was legs?
hed just have said, yes we are trying to bring in BWP, and tie up the permanent liegertwood deal

Who knows? I'm just going for the expect the obvious rather than expect a left field signing to come out of the blue.

Maybe he just thinks that being involved in a push for promotion is better than fighting a relegation battle.
