Bandini I, for one, will firebomb Neil Lennon's house if this happens.

Is there really any need for that.

Maybe a very slight over reaction......but Neil Lennon IS a Cnut!

I'm now officially fed up with Norwich fans posting on their forum that they should sign Shane Long on a free as he is out of contract at the end of the season.

You had me running to check whether the bit about being out of contract in the summer was true there... it's not.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Shane go to a club like Norwich. Decent club that - for now at least - are honest and likeable. That's Shane all over.

I already despise much of football for turning the game into a gravy train for mercinaries, run by shady figures with dubious credentials and regulated by simpering weaklings. Norwich are closer to the "Reading Way" than that lot.

Lol at anyone thinking Shane would go to Norwich, he is much better than that if he is going to a prem team sure he could make it to someone like.......Blackpool

I thought Wolves was where all Irish ex-RFC players go to die.

He won't go there if they are relegated though.

Shane Long's summer move to West Ham is looking less and less likely every week.

He'll more than likely end up at Newcastle or he'll stay at Reading. I won't mind if he leaves us to join a genuinely big club like Newcastle where he would have a great chance of breaking into their team.

I don't see the point of him leaving us to join the likes of Norwich. I think Shane would be better off spending another season in the championship with us if we were not to go up.

Its Liverpool now....

Liverpool are considering making a surprise end-of-season move for Reading striker Shane Long, reports TalkSPORT.co.uk

The Republic of Ireland international has enjoyed a sensational season so far for the Royals in the Championship, contributing 21 goals towards their push for promotion back to the Premier League and winning the club’s Player of the Year award in the process.

However, the 24 year old is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Madejski and, rather than lose the front man for nothing next summer, manager Brian McDermott is said to be prepared to let him depart on the cheap when the transfer window reopens on June 1.

It is believed that Reading would be seeking £5 million for the forward, who is known to be desperate for another crack at the Premier League, although his situation could become complicated if the club win promotion back to the top flight via the Play-Offs.

£5 million if we stay in Championship is good business and we can probably replace him at that level. If we go in the prem and still sell then we are doomed as its only the perky fast paced game that could make a difference.
