I'll back up RR's statement and go one further.

Within 2 years Antonio will not be a regular Championship player.

He will be a regular starter in the Owls team as of now never mind in two years time.

Not sure how that's relevant to where he'll be in 2 years time though :|

plroyals Antonio has the potential to become a very good championship player or a premiership player and if he achieves that we could regret selling him, similar to simon cox. but if he stayed at Reading he would not reach this potential as he needs a run of games in the championship for a whole season and Sheffield Wednesday are the ideal club for him. in my opinion this deal is a very good one for all involved and i wish Antonio all the best and hope he reaches this potential.

nothing ive seen from cox since says to me that we made the wrong decision.
i doubt we have here either, but this is about him, and his career, and we are doing teh right thing for that.

I agree that we have made the right decision on both but a lot of people have said to me that we should of kept cox. the point im making is that if we kept cox he wouldn't have reached his current ability as at the time he would have got no game time here. that is why i believe we have made the right decision on Antonio as a dont think he could improve and reach his potential here. so in my opinion this deal is good for us and him.

I don't think we've made much money on him, he was probably on at least £2000 a week and at the club for 4 years.

Doubt he was on £2k a week when he signed tbf, but even if he was that's still a good £250k profit, not to be sniffed at.

Forgot he was out on loan most of the time as well. Good work Squeaky.

He's a promising young player.
Didn't get a chance here due to the club developing faster than him.
I think the best for all has happened. No one wants to be a reserve or loanee forever. Obita had moved ahead of him, so it made sense to move on. RFC gave him his chance, and he took it. Now he's a championship regular with a really good club, unarguably a bigger club than ours over the years.
Good luck Michail

I think within 3 years he'll be at a club that finish higher in the table than we do.

:| We're favourites to go down and I think Sheff Wed have a decent chance of getting promoted in the next couple of years.

I predict a Reading FC mistake selling Antonio of epic proportions

handbags_harris In fact, I'll say it here and now - Michail Antonio will be a Premier League player within the next five years.

not sure RFC disagree with your assessment of his talent. but you cant hold a player back for 5 years, just cos you reckon he may be good enough then

Not suggesting we should hold him back at all. I think we've held him back far too much already and had he been blooded earlier and more consistently I'm convinced that Reading fans would have entirely different views on him. I think he wasn't given a fair crack of the whip here given the level of his performances in the league below. It wasn't as though he played at some shite like Exeter or Rochdale either. I would have played Antonio ahead of HRK and, pre-McDermott, ahead of Kebe for most of the last couple of seasons based on his performances at Southampton and, if that was deemed unconvincing certainly after his spells at Colchester and Sheffield Wednesday. He's done well enough at two of the best clubs in League 1 over the last decade to warrant a good crack of the whip at Championship level yet he was barely given a chance here (Wednesday spell aside obviously). He's now been given that chance and my gut instinct is that he will only kick on from here and become a Premier League player within the next five years. Whether he is a success at that level is open to conjecture but if my instinct is proven to be correct then I'll happily accept the plaudits of Team Boarders :P

Of course, the rhetoric is rendered whimsical and pointless within the realms of the present.

he just scored a lovely goal for Sheff Wed. He's been dangerous all night to be fair.
