2 world wars, 1 world cup Devil's advocate mode:

Ok he played at Real and Everton but was released by them.

He's currently playing from some Russia team and can't even start every game for them, so is he really going to be good for us in the champ/Prem?

Wasn't released by Everton, was just on loan there. Impressed, but went a bit mental towards the end which put Moyes off signing him. He started every game he could for the Russian club, scored a hat-trick on debut but then got injured/wasn't totally fit.

Has the talent, if we can get some form of application out of him then he'll easily be good enough for us in both leagues.

Cheers winch. And not being good enough for Real is not exactly a negative !

Drenthe flies in on Tuesday and is expected to complete the deal after a medical according to the local press. So still time to be tommied on this....

Pretty sure Anton would 'remove' anyone that tried to hijack this deal.

Just one question though and assuming hooper turns up as well, how is all this possible given the leagues financial play rules or has nicky h also managed to persuade them to play for free.....

Parachute payments, plus the fact we presumably made plenty of money last season given we were willing to spend £10m on Gylf.

This is fcuking amazing. PLEASE be true.

Fcuk the PL can't we just stay in the champ & tear it up year after year? That would do me nicely.

Yeah, whats the point of a medical after the contract has been signed.

Tbf you'd only have to put 'subject to passing a medical' at the bottom of a sheet of A4.

I just hope this guy doesn't, sign his history is terrible we might get six good games out of him in the whole season, the damage his antics will cause in the dressing room could be very costly. He has an attitude problem big time. If he signs then my season is ruined before it starts' Mourinho ,Moyes couldn't, control him so can,t see NIgel Adkins doing any better. Just hope this is not a policy handed down from the RUssian oligarch that RFC must sign big name players whether they are has beens or never weres
this possible signing frightens me to near death.
