rfc58 I think its great business, IF we use the money to buy a proven player not only capable of playing in the fizzy pop league, but is good enough to step up a league.
The management say they are aiming to be in the top flight within a couple of years, so whoever we sign on a three year deal, means we are expecting them to play in the top flight.
Hope the players we claim to have watched for ages, like Halford and Fae, plus the likes of Bennett and Sodje etc are a thing of the past.
Lets look to get in a quality replacement, so the squad has the quality in depth to handle suspensions/injuries etc.

Chillitsphil This is quite simply the best news and funniest signing of the season. Sonko has lost a yard of pace and is frankly awful, wonderful news.

rfc58 Tamworth - I unfortunately agree.
I do think its great business, as he'd become a liability, but the squad need strength in depth.
How many promotions are won and lost when clubs can't field a strong starting eleven, and their replacements are simply not up to it.

hutch The best piece of transfer business the club has done in ages,, £2 million for an absolute liability is excellent news. A real positive to come out of this is that Pearce really goes up the pecking order now. Perhaps a new centre-back pairing of Pearce and Bikey for the long term? The club still need to get in 2 or 3 players to bolster the squad but all in all a good day.
