Jack Nolan, no idea on age but used to be at Portsmouth

For those wondering if we have any youngsters with classic Reading names, we've currently got another James Henry on our books, whilst the right-back Howe is actually the son of Nigel

Sub Denton is the grandson of Graham and presumably young Holsgrove follows in his father's footsteps and gave the fans two fingers as he left the pitch....

Not a youngster but we did have a Blackman last year.

Literally not a single mention from the club, but our U23s played Leicester today and lost 2-3, despite scoring to go 2-1 ahead with 20 minutes to play

Our goals were scored by Tyler Frost and Ryan East, whilst England U20 No.1 Luke Southwood saved a penalty for us on 71 minutes. The score at that point was still only 1-1

Notable team news was that Niall Keown finally appeared, before getting subbed for a guy called Akinwale Odimayo :?: (Google suggests he's a defender, an U18 regular, and is aged 16)

Ramarni Medford-Smith was at LB in the continued absence of Griffin, he only turned 18 this week, whilst on the other end of the spectrum Jake Cooper got some more minutes (63 in fact), and all three Leicester goals plus the penalty came immediately after he was substituted

Full Team...
Southwood
Sheppard
Keown (Odimayo 63')
Cooper (Andresson 63')
Medford-Smith
Bennett
Frost
Rinomhota
East
Barrett
Novakovich (Cardwell 76')

Subs Unused: Tupper, Howe

Wonder why the club give such poor/non existent coverage to the Academy games? Perhaps they feel the odd few minutes of action that surfaces in the player us sufficient

Or is it all to do with the agreement for websites and all clubs party to that agreement are just as bad?

Very impressive to see the U18s winning matches without McIntyre, Frost, Loader, or Medford-Smith. They were also without House or Holmes.

Sounds like a really exciting team, if a bit fragile at the back.

The club won't tell you this, but our U23s are on TV in five minutes

LFC TV, I think it's £7 to watch on Sky, otherwise it'll probably be on a streaming site

I will provide updates as per if anyone actually cares

EDIT: Apparently it's 1pm, although everywhere I've looked says 12:30, and also you need Sky Variety to subscribe I think

Sakho is playing for Liverpool

Let's see what Novakovich can do as the lone striker.

First 10 mins, pretty much all Liverpool, only decent moments for us were both let down by poor passes by Barrett, who's both playing and wearing No.10

Cooper defending well, bailed us out a few times with some important blocks and headers, although not sure how they haven't scored yet

1-0 Liverpool. Totally deserved, as it's been men v boys so far.

1-0 Liverpool, Sakho taps in after a good save by Southwood, Weiser all over the place and not sure he's touched the ball yet

Weiser hits a free-kick into the wall (he's left-footed for those wondering), Novakovich earlier had a header saved

The passing from the back is shambolic, but particular lols at Richards who tried to back pass it from the half-way line and knocked it out for a corner

Novakovich clean through at the end of the first half, runs into the penalty area, decides to stop, and then turns into Sakho :|

HT, Liverpool could have had 4 or 5, we should have had one there

I want to say Cooper looked a class above the rest of our team, which he sort of did, but once again he's at fault for the goal

Just watching it back and rather than clear it, he tried playing a short pass through a packed penalty area, gives it away, and Liverpool end up working it to Sakho

I'm not sure if he's unlucky that his mistakes literally always lead to goals, or if his mistakes are just really bad

Not really had the ball enough to comment on other individuals, Barrett has given it away a lot, Weiser keeps having opposition players run past him, Southwood made a few good saves

Another good chance for Novakovich, Sheppard does brilliantly down the right, great ball in and the American somehow missed it

Suddenly all over them

Sheppard bursting down the right and a few opportunities wasted, now all of a sudden Liverpool look shaky at the back

Mainly been dominant but wasteful this half, although Liverpool have had the best chances on the counter, Brannagan just hit the bar
