bakerlou The Football Governance Bill didn't get passed prior to the wind-up of the current Parliament, so we're a but further away from any formal Regulator (and / or being made an early doors Test Case, as Roger Titford reported in the new WSC).

Probably a good thing. Labour will resurrect it, with a PM who is a genuine football fan. It's not a hard left incoming government, but where the interests of fans are in direct conflict with billionaire and hedge fund owners, they'll still be more inclined to side with fans than the Tories.
Generally, a new government is judged on the first 100 days. If Labour or anyone else other than the Conservatives win, They will want to make changes and get their new polices in place as soon as possible, the things they pledged to do when elected. Not sure pushing through some leftover policy from before the election will be a top priority.

You are having a laugh aren't you? What government fulfils their election pledges? Only the gullible fall for that one.

Thatcher’s did (first win)
Blair’s did (first win)
OK, exceptions rather than the rule

Fair point, but I imagine unless it's a quick win for them to get gain some popularity they'll focus on other things

229 manifesto commitments in the 1997 Labour manifesto and researched each one to find out whether it has been carried out.

Labour's pledges
Done
181 (79%)
Not done
21 (9.2%)
On course
3 (1.3%)
Partially done
14 (6.1%)
Debatable
10 (4.4%)

compare that to the percentage of manifesto promises delivered over the last 14 years, and you will see that the parties arent all the same.
no matter how much the tory press try to convince you that they are

of the 42 promises in a policy lte 2019 manifesto
tories delivered 2, and one of those only partially

and over the entire 14 years theyve reneged, revesed and abandoned 362 pledges, promises and policies

You must have a lot of free time to check out a manifesto from 1997 with 200 odd pledges in this amount of detail.

I'm not in the least defending this government who have been shambolic and need to go but we have had a one in 100 years pandemic and a war which crippled global fuel prices for while....these things tend to move the goalposts.

Yes, that does move the goalposts but it doesn’t break them down for firewood and sell them to the next door neighbour for peanuts

From Despair To Where? It's not about what you face, it's about how you face it.

And that is why the Reform UK Party has issued a Contract and not a Manifeso, everything is fully costed and achievable.

OUR CORE PLEDGES TO YOU
Fourteen years of Tory failure are coming to an end. A Labour government would ramp up mass
immigration, crime, and taxes even further. Labour and the Tories are two sides of the same coin.
Only Reform UK is ready to stand up for common sense politics. We set out our plan in this
document, Our Contract with You. Wherever you look, Britain needs Reform.
Our Contract with You covers the most important areas of policy for you and your family, but we
have summarised these into five core pledges:

1. Imagine Smart Immigration, Not Mass Immigration
All non-essential immigration frozen to boost wages, protect public services,
end the housing crisis and cut crime.
2. Imagine No More Small Boats in the Channel
Illegal migrants who come to the UK will be detained and deported. And if
needed, migrants in small boats will be picked up and taken back to France.
3. Imagine No NHS Waiting Lists
Still free at the point of delivery, healthcare needs reform to improve outcomes
and enjoy zero NHS waiting lists. Cut back office waste to spend more money
on the frontline. Tax breaks for doctors and nurses to tackle the staffing crisis.
4. Imagine Good Wages for a Hard Day’s Work
Lift the income tax starting threshold to £20k to save the lowest paid £1,500
per year. This takes 7 million of the least well-off out of Income Tax to make
work pay and get people off benefits.
5. Imagine Affordable, Stable Energy Bills
Scrap energy levies and Net Zero to slash energy bills and save each household
£500 per year. Unlock Britain’s vast oil and gas reserves to be

Up the Nige. 30% is looming

Odd that the owner of the Reform business doesn’t think it’s costed or even practical !
He also doesn’t appear to understand what a contract actually is.
