North stander i think the booing of seol on tuesday was disgracefull. Anyone that took part of it should be ashamed of themselves. Seol is a player that thrives on confidence and booing him clearly doesnt help. He is clearly a good player as he showed at the start of the season. You can see he has lost all his confidence. Thats why hes coming across as being lazy. All its acheiving in doing is destroying him as player. As said above the booing of our own players only serves as an advantage to the opposition.

So what caused the demise of his performances in the first place?

I think seols one of those players that is brilliant some times but he is suseptable to doing nothing in games. My point is that booing him clearly does not help and is destroying him as a player. The fact that anyone would boo any of our players this season is dreadfull, they have all played their part in this amazing season. seol was vital to us in the early part in the season and helped us in the start that we had. He can produce magic at the drop of a hat eg west ham, sheff u away. They clearly wernt here when we had to put up with the likes of keith Scott and Paul Brayson. If they were, they wouldnt have the nerve to boo any of these players.

AthleticoSpizz Whilst there are 11 opposition players , a referee and two linesmen on the turf....there is NEVER any justification to boo your own.

Coppell puts them on the pitch...Coppell decides when they exit the field....think about it

No excuse for booing your own players/manager. I used to do it when I was 14 on the South Bank. Never did any good (Branfoot out......)

I live near Wolverhampton and it is worrying that all the locals were telling me in August "He'll give you 3 good months and then give up".....sound familiar.

I reply by saying thankyou very much for Ingimarsson..........

Stranded To anyone who did boo Seol on Tuesday, I will ask you a simple question.

If things don't come off for Little next home game, and is style is languid as well - doesn't track back when he loses the ball (which he's been known not to) will you be booing him when/if he's susbstituted?

Little tracks back and frequently helps out Murty, are you blind?

Seol is Korean.

Koreans are well known to speak a language called Korean.

And they're good at TaeKwonDo coz they invented it.

So basically they speak Korean and are good at TaeKwonDo.

So with Seol, well, he's Korean too.

And I'm sure there's some sort of a link.

Or maybe not.

Interesting facts nevertheless.

I say we don't boo him.

I need to sleep.

The reason he doesn't fit in too well is because he doesn't play at the same pace and intensity that we have come to expect from Reading this season - he has great skill and ball control but that alone is not enough. We wanted him to get stuck in when he doesn't have the ball and not let the ball come to him so a defender can nip in and take the ball from him. Give him some time there are lots of barriers to overcome you may find he will play little part for the rest of the season but may surprise everyone next season and could be like signing a new player - remember Bobby's first season! The ball is in his court, its up to him to take up the challange.

Anyone that has booed Seol is a complete twat, just shows a lack of football knowledge.

Seol has been below par as of late but i think he has won us some vital games this season and played a big part in our points tally this season, he might well end up to be a carp player but anyone that boos him is a cock of the highest order.

Booing is what leeds fans do.

Booing does not make a player play better.

Get behind every player that wears a Reading shirt.

I would like to add that i did rate seol but at the moment he is not suited to the Reading style as he stops the counter attacking football with his dallying on the ball.

Good summary but Seol's lack of natural pace is made up by his superb technical ability, with him being easily the best 2 footed player at the club.

Reminds me a bit of an Alexander Hleb last season who struggled at Arsenal but has had a good season this year.

To all those plonkers who can't seem to accept that Seol hasn't been trying hard enough............ Why do you think Coppell says this?

"I saw Jose Mourinho say recently that choosing a team is easy, it picks itself on performance.

"So if Seol plays well, he plays, it's simple as that.

"Everything is performance related, if he has the desire and mentality he can very quickly get back in the team, no problem."

Even Sir Steve recognises that Seol hasn't been putting in the effort......

He says that if he has the DESIRE & MENTALITY then he will get back in.

Its a disgrace that Seol hasn't been working hard enough for the fans.....
The fans had every right to boo and send a message to Seol that they are not happy with his lack of effort.

If Seol works hard, the fans won't boo, they will love him and he will win his place back in the team.

If Seol works hard, the fans will love him straight away because he is a very talented footballer.

Desire & mentality are not the same as workrate.

I didn't hear any booing actually (not saying there wasn't any, just that I didn't hear it), but that might have been because I was shouting at him to get of the pitch! But not because I thought he was shit (which he was and I did) but because we were still in the chase and we needed every valuable second. He was wasting it by trudging off. That actually annoyed me more than his useless performance on the night.

Desire is how badly you want something.......

If you want something badly, then you will do everything you can, no matter what to get it.....

Does Seol wanna play in the first team? Does he want it enough? Is he prepared to put the work in and all the effort required to get in to the first team?

Seol's talent is not in doubt? His talent is not in question! Coppell's question to Seol is whether Seol is prepared to work hard enough and show the desire to play each game. If Seol did work hard he could be really effective on the pitch.

I think desire and work rate are linked.

If you don't think they are linked then thats your problem. Explain why desire and mentality are not the same as work rate.

Of course they are directly linked, I never questioned that, they are not the same thing though.

There seems to be this impression that any player, in any position on the pitch must produce a 110% work rate and ethic. In specialist positions like on the wing and up front I wouldn't consider this to be a key requirement, they are judged on their end product and not their ability to cover every blade of grass. If Seol had a problem with his mentality towards the game then he would not even get a sniff of a start, Coppell would never have a passenger on the pitch. As it stands his end product has been less effective than in the first half of the season but there could be many reasons for this, Glenn Little's huge contribution being one of them.

I put it to you that a person's desire to do anything for the club that he plays for, would be adversely affected by Joe Public booing him during a game. Some players may rise to this challenge, if you can call it that, though I can't recall a single player that has made a statement to this effect about being boo'ed by his own supporters. Boo'ed by the opposition, most definitely. Others, and I believe this is where Seol lies, will see any sort of non constructive criticism as detrimental to their desire to play for that club.

If we aren't careful then this is where Seol could be heading, that would be a great shame for one of the most talented players I have seen wear a Reading shirt.

Poor to boo him as he comes off, but, having said that, I hope he never plays again. His lack of effort is plain to see and VERY distressing.
