muppet_ i'm sorry, haven't read all this, and i'll get shot down for saying it, but....isn't this a bit like emotional blackmail??

"Spontaneous show of support and affection" is the way I'm positioning it. Steve has too much integrity and strength of character to be blackmailed, but he might just be influenced is he sees the strength of support he has.

this is a good idea, really good-im going up and leaving my scarf

i felt awful last night

really powerless,

i reckon we should get the STAR people to bring the No13 URz flag to the car park

write "Steve, please stay" in letters 10 foot high on it

and then everyone can come up and sign it

then we should hang it from the pointy white bits on the roof

theres no way he could leave us after that is there?!

cmon steve-dont break my heart twice in one week

Yep - he's given us in the last 3 years what the majority of supporters don't experience in a lifetime.

And if he does go at least we'll know that we've let him know how we feel.

I am a betting person, I would suspect that the further we get away from Sunday just gone without him resigning the chances are that he will stay as there is high potential that we will not be subject to a knee jerk reaction.

My gut feeling is this...

...if we can get past today without any resignation statement then he'll stay.

Thou Voice Very long shot, and I doubt that much will come of it because of data protection act...

I gamble down one of Reading's Casino's, not the Grosvenor but the other one that is called Maxims or something like that - used to be Stanley's.

I've seen John Oster, Glen Little and Nicky Shorey in there before. Could be worth contacting them and asking if they could pass a message on. I doubt they will, but the casino will have their contact details.

I've gambled with said players on the 3 card tables. Just thought i'd mention that.

Were they betting with £50 notes whilst you were looking for an extra 50p to put down?

$2.50 i'll have you know!

Unfortunately I'm away on business tonight so I won't be able to join the throng of tearful internet geeks but well done for doing it and good luck. I hope he's persuaded that we want him to stay.

Hmmm ok, maybe write:

steve-whatever you decide is ok with us, we'd love you to stay, but only if you want to

or does that dilute the message?!

at least i feel less powerless now

what a great idea, im sure me and royal lady came up with it though........

It'll need three coats of white for a professional job.

I was thinking

STEVE
PLEASE
STAY

and on the reverse

He won't go anywhere.

He's too proud to walk away now, he'll want to get as back to the Premiership.
