What a joke of a club! I'd take the compo and run. If he goes back it will be short lived. He now knows that he's not the new owners man.

McDermott is just too decent for modern football. He's better off out of it.

Football is becoming a joke. Foreign ownership is resulting in clubs becoming detached from the community. Hopefully a ground swell of opposition will build.

More protests outside Elland Road and a car on fire.

One year ago Brian won PL manager of the month. Talk about the curse of the winner - two incredibly unjust sackings in less than twelve months.

I hope he finds a job with a club who will appreciate him.

Just playing devil's advocate for a minute though.....maybe he got quite lucky to get the Reading job & is quite possibly a little bit out of his depth?

But regardless - he's a nice bloke & the potential new owners trying to put their own men in the dugout before they even take over is just disgusting.

Have you have ever stopped and thought that he may not actually be a very good manager.

Great scout......shit manager. Picks his team based on his personal relationship with the players rather than what's best for the team....

....so, so glad he's no longer manager here....

Statement from Leeds United: "The club would like to make it clear that Brian McDermott remains our first team manager. He has not been dismissed from his post as has been suggested and we look forward to him continuing in his role with us in taking Leeds United forwards."

Ummmmmm....well....never seen that before. Big question though is does he swallow his pride and stay or walk and risk losing a big payout?

This statement came out after the match report from what I can see. The match report on their site which mentions caretaker manager Nigel Gibbs!

Don't mean to be rude but if he stays he's a complete pussy. No manager worth their salt would tolerate that.

I would suggest that the next job vacancy at Leeds will be for a media relations manager as surely anyone would have looked at that statement and cringed.

What a monumental cock up!

Maybe a statement along the lines of ' BMc remains the LUFC manager as the Lawyer that sacked him was working on behalf of the would be new owners who have no rights to make any decisions at this point in time, thus making the dismissal unlawful. Our club sponsors were quicker to pick up on this error and have threatened to withdraw all further sponsorship. We can now conform that Enterprise and Flamingo Land remain the LUFC sponsors '

Or ' we made a complete cock up '

I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a pussy, but to come back after that? He'd be foolish to do so.

What I do find strange is that on their fan forums, many were getting frustrated with his managerial abilities, are pissed off with the sacking, then they go to sing his name win 5-1 without him, with a different approach to the game.

There was your plan b, Brian.

Very odd. Especially given that youtube vid where he got loads of abuse at Rochdale. What would be the point of hm staying there? The first chance they get, he'd get booted again. Not worth the grief - leave with your head held high & get another job.
