Well, that is at least a more emollient justification than implying you're deliberately using this sort of language to match the level of your audience. When I was growing up the word was a reference to Down's Syndrome.


The only place I've EVER heard this word is on this list

Perhaps if Mills was a more positive figure on the field and didn't keep moaning and whinging on the pitch (as he often does) he might be more well-liked. At the moment there isn't much of a connection between him and many of our supporters.

To be fair he actually let his hair down on Tuesday night, raised a smile, applauded the fans and threw his shirt into the crowd.
He also had a very good game.
