Whilst all the injuries are unconnected, maybe there is an underlying case - are the players fit enough?

I remember starting in the Pardew era we would win games in the last 5-10 minutes because our fitness levels were vastly superior to the opposition..... all this sports science stuff doesn't get talked about anymore.

I'd say the physio/fitness area was something the club should look to address, maybe as well as fewer injuries we'll have a team as alert and fit in the 90th minute as the 1st.

Everyone does sports science these days so its no longer as much of a late game advantage

Hard for us to compete with bigger and richer clubs for them, don't you think.

So now, Anton Ferdinand's return to match fitness regime, no doubt drawn up and supervised by our sports scientist/physios, has had a setback with him hurting a hamstring. As a consequence he is going to be out till mid October.  Can we really be that unlucky or are we making our own bad luck?

don't have to get the ones doing it now at high cost but its relatively easy to get the next ones coming up - low cost and need to prove themselves to move forward in due course. they will be young, have new ideas and won't be bogged down by history.................might even be good and can't be worse than the current position. Ian please be positive for once

You could be touching on a raw nerve here as far as our Manager is concerned.

It is ridiculous all this, yet Nigel is qualified as a physio on top of all the sports scientists and the day to day physios we've got looking after the players.

One wonders if we have an agent from another Championship club in amongst our coaching/medical staff somewhere?

With this many injuries the club should really look into the physio department - Maybe they are short staffed, too busy treating injured players to spend time keeping the others injury free?

If this was a hospital they'd be testing the staff for Münchausen by proxy syndrome .

Just a thought but, could it be a case of too many players getting blinded by the sun shining from Adkin's backside :|
