Lol at the American's having a pop at Reading fans.
You do realise that for most people on this board support consists of hours and hours of travelling, spending probably over a thousand pounds per season following the team. Sitting in the freezing cold etc.

Obviously if all you do is post on an internet forum and tune in to listen to a game for 90 minutes a week then no, the club doesn't owe you a thing.

Sorry Libertine mate, but you're an armchair fan. That's fair enough, but you have zero right to pass judgement on the proper supporters.

Utter toss.

All fans are entitled to their opinions irrespective of if/when they go to matches. This 'I go to matches so I am a better supporter than you' just shows what a small minded ignoramus you are and I would value libertine's opinion more than yours.

ive never been a fan of dellor. he has had it out for adkins from the beginning and probably contributed somewhat to the players attitudes.

Quite, methinks he doth protest too much. He may not have called for Adkins to be sacked but he has continuously stirred things up, criticising Adkins and the team at every opportunity, moaning that his mate ALF isn't getting enough game time (he did really well today for 90 minutes didn't he Tim!) etc. In doing so he has increased the pressure on the management team.

In your own post there you proved how correct Libertine was in his assessment.

His opinion of what? A match he wasn't at? Or supporters he's never even met?
Fair enough giving your opinion on virtually all aspects of Reading fc.
But criticise others who actually put some effort into supporting the team? oxf*rd off!
Likewise, if a Man Utd/Arsenal fan mate of mine was to give banter about how shit Reading are then fair enough. But if they're going to say"Reading fans are so shit", then of course I'll point out out the difference between fans that go to games and fans that don't.

Listening to the interview, I think the spat between Adkins and Dellor has been over-hyped a little. Not a fan of Dellor, but do think Adkins' comment was a little unnecessary.

Don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but thought Adkins comments about getting Drenthe, Williams & Bridge early in the window and essentially been stuck with that, was hinting that the problems with TSI may have began right back in the summer.

For those calling for Adkins out, it's clear he isn't going anywhere. Anton isn't here and clearly couldn't care less and SJM is right behind Adkins. The quicker we can get Anton out of the club, the better. Full credit to SJM who seems to be playing an active part in finding new investment, and he is still putting the club's best interests at first.

Listening to that interview we are in a very similar position now.

Except this time we need to back the oxf*rd manager not throw him under the bus.

10,000 hours to become an expert in a new skill. There aren't even that many hours in a year. Being okay is not enough at this level. This is why we are struggling on the ball and why there is oxf*rd all Adkins can do about it if we want to play a passing game.

If we don't give a shit about that we have the wrong manager. Personally, I give a shit about the football we play.

I'm not sure quoting Malcolm Gladwell is particularly relevant most professional footballers have the core skills of passing and movement. They are not learning how to fly.

Mark McGhee produced a great footballing side in the early 90s - the best I've seen and yes he needed time to do this. However Adkins has had almost a year and we seem to have not progressed at all.

Of course I feel entitled to an extent. I've put in a decent effort to support the team today. I expect a decent effort back from the team/management. We haven't been getting a decent effort from the club in recent weeks (if not months) IMO therefore I will voice my discontent.

In regards to the "our fans are so entitled" brigade: I've just got back from another shitty match in the cold and wet.
If any one of the other 2,000 + Reading fans that were there feel the need to criticise the fans today, then fair enough.
But I'm in no mood to accept criticism today from those who listened to the game on the radio/internet, or couldn't even be arsed to do that.
The least Libertine could do is save his criticism for tomorrow.

My opinion of what? Of the season so far. Of the reactions here during the course of the season and how (some of) the fans who attend the games (but definitely not all of them) conduct themselves while attending the games in alleged support of the team by booing them incessantly and criticizing them even when they do get a result (which is often). If you think this was about only today's game, or was a criticism just of the fans, you, in my most humble of opinions, should work on your reading comprehension skill set sir.

And I want to thank Uke and Big Ern...thanks m8s. This would be a boring internet portal if it were a forum for (only) fans who attended the games. You make it sound like a joyless hardship you are being made to endure. I would be thrilled to be able to put myself through such trying times to attend the matches of the team I support.

At the moment it very much is.
Get a bit hacked off when I'm soaking wet, knackered, out of pocket and incredibly disappointed at another shit performance only to find yet another nobber saying "our fans are so shit."
Piss off!

You are entitled to your opinion, as I am. As I said before I can only wish to be able to endure such soul crushing, trying, times...while the team finds itself in the top levels of the second tier of English football.

And btw, I am not pissing off anywhere. Feel free to try to make me but you'll grow very old slowly and die before you succeed.

Patently nonsense. If this were true we'd be able to turn the England football team into Germany overnight with a simple change of tactics and manager. And that is the best Britain has to offer.

Agreed leon-we should at least be seeing signs of a change but the only tactic seems to be to pass it around at the back and then welly the ball-that IMHO is not progress it is football from the dark ages.

That interview was class. Adkins put Dellor in his place.

Dellor did very little wrong, simply asked the questions fans ask on the text messages and commented that it was a poor performance, which it was (far worse than just poor in fact). Had to defend himself too, so that future interviews can still take place. Adkins, as usual, was shifty around any questions related to the teams performance or shots, but it was encouraging to hear investment is close.
