P!ssed Off Lol at the American's having a pop at Reading fans.
You do realise that for most people on this board support consists of hours and hours of travelling, spending probably over a thousand pounds per season following the team. Sitting in the freezing cold etc.
Obviously if all you do is post on an internet forum and tune in to listen to a game for 90 minutes a week then no, the club doesn't owe you a thing.
Sorry Libertine mate, but you're an armchair fan. That's fair enough, but you have zero right to pass judgement on the proper supporters.

Utter toss.
All fans are entitled to their opinions irrespective of if/when they go to matches. This 'I go to matches so I am a better supporter than you' just shows what a small minded ignoramus you are and I would value libertine's opinion more than yours.

Listening to that interview we are in a very similar position now.
Except this time we need to back the oxf*rd manager not throw him under the bus.
10,000 hours to become an expert in a new skill. There aren't even that many hours in a year. Being okay is not enough at this level. This is why we are struggling on the ball and why there is oxf*rd all Adkins can do about it if we want to play a passing game.
If we don't give a shit about that we have the wrong manager. Personally, I give a shit about the football we play.

In your own post there you proved how correct Libertine was in his assessment.
Although I doubt you realised that at the time

His opinion of what? A match he wasn't at? Or supporters he's never even met?
Fair enough giving your opinion on virtually all aspects of Reading fc.
But criticise others who actually put some effort into supporting the team? oxf*rd off!
Likewise, if a Man Utd/Arsenal fan mate of mine was to give banter about how shit Reading are then fair enough. But if they're going to say"Reading fans are so shit", then of course I'll point out out the difference between fans that go to games and fans that don't.

Libertine My opinion of what? Of the season so far. Of the reactions here during the course of the season and how (some of) the fans who attend the games (but definitely not all of them) conduct themselves while attending the games in alleged support of the team by booing them incessantly and criticizing them even when they do get a result (which is often). If you think this was about only today's game, or was a criticism just of the fans, you, in my most humble of opinions, should work on your reading comprehension skill set sir.
And I want to thank Uke and Big Ern...thanks m8s. This would be a boring internet portal if it were a forum for (only) fans who attended the games. You make it sound like a joyless hardship you are being made to endure. I would be thrilled to be able to put myself through such trying times to attend the matches of the team I support.

I'm not sure quoting Malcolm Gladwell is particularly relevant most professional footballers have the core skills of passing and movement. They are not learning how to fly.
Mark McGhee produced a great footballing side in the early 90s - the best I've seen and yes he needed time to do this. However Adkins has had almost a year and we seem to have not progressed at all.
