Fezza In my book driving whilst under the influence is the same as attempted manslaughter (if there was such a thing)!

Your book is dogshit!

Care to explain your problem with my reasons?

he has no problem with your reasons

its just a bad review of your book

get over it and learn to take criticism

the plot was ludicrous and the characters 2 dimensional

I see your point, it was stupid of me to have the Hero character as being ginger.

However I am writing a new one about a black man who is accused of a number of crimes he there's no proof he committed. I fear this may also flop.

Oh I don't know. Just change the end a bit. There's folks around here that like a good lynching!

New plot: -

Likeable ginger buffoon who always shouts his mouth off but is then set up by the law. With him is the black chap who has a little previous for fisty cuffs but not to much by way of any convictions.

The drive around in a big black van with a red stripe on it, however, the ginger buffoon isn't allowed to drive it on account of him being an UTTER TOOL. They go around helping the helpless trying to clear their own names.

If only there were a dashing young man and someone with brains to lead them - guess I can't hope for that!

Do you think it would work?

What kind of Shenanigans do they get involved in?

This best be a comedy.

Which, lets face it, is odds on.

If it was any other player I would agree that this is the likely scenario.

However, Kitson appears to have an inexplicable chip on his shoulder with regard to authority (which seems to have begun when he was a humble supermarket employee) combined with pig-headed stubborness.

This leads me to believe that it is entirely possible that Kitson refused to give a sample as an act of defiance to a perceived injustice (ie getting stopped for no apparent reason) rather than trying to create a smokescreen.

Foolish of course, but that's Kitson.

Bloody good footballer mind.

Now that's what I've been wanting to say. Perfectly expressed. (Might be totally incorrect wishful thinking of course.)

Have I just had a humour bypass or is this the least funniest and most unentertain piece of script I have read on HNA for a very long time.

Would the black chap having a catch phrase of "quit yo jibber jabber" improve the script in any way?

Sorry I got bored of being shouted down for my opinions on people that drink drive or refuse to be tested.

I'm afraid to say that in either case Mr Kitson has gone from being rational, agreeable and an excelent footballer to being an utter tw@t and an excellent footballer in my opinion. Is that slightly more On thread?

Based on the fact that the majority of TVP coppers I've had the misfortune of meeting are complete morons, I'll reserve judgement on Kitson's behaviour for now.

If he was drink driving though, he'll deserve everything he gets.

I wish the media would come and interview me on this subject, so I can tell them just what I think of him in true "tells it like it is" Kitson style.

Oh well, all footballers really are c*nts aren't they. How foolish of us to expect otherwise.

I'd actually be curious to know of a tally against the rest of the population the percentage of footballers who get caught for speeding offences.

I have a feeling it's not very high.

Nick Shorey my Lord! I heard a rumour Kitson murdered Maddie and ate her liver for breakfast with a nice bottle of blue nun.

Why would you think that? I suspect that there are an awful lot of overpaid, spoilt, immature footballers out there who are able to get their hands on some pretty high performing cars long before they're really ready for them.

I can't get excited about this. Blood test result will reveal all, Kitson will receive the due punishment, whatever that may be, the club will say that's the end of the matter and deal with any internal punishment they deem necessary and life will go on.

Kitson will still play, still score goals and still get ignored for England.

Will all be forgotten about in a few weeks.

What blood test result? I very much doubt he consented to that either!

Once Kitson's case is out of the way, the club shouldn't just say that is the end of the matter and/or that it has been dealt with internally. They should make a very clear declaration of their abhorrence of drink driving and (in the event that he has been convicted) also make it clear that Kitson will face additional sanctions from the club.

If I was Kitson's advisor and Kitson now told me that he was guilty as charged, I would want him to start working on redeeming his reputation immediately. A very public and clear statement that he accepted his guilt, was going to plead guilty in court and accept whatever punishment he received as fully justified and that he now realised how stupid and irresponsible he had been. This would be followed up by work with appropriate charities/pressure groups etc. tackling the menace of drink driving.

I would also point out to him that his wages for a couple of weeks would cover the cost of employing his own chaffeur for a year and that is how he should be travelling in the future if he even as much considers having a couple of spoons of cough mixture let alone a glass or two of wine!

Finally there's a certain irony about phrases such as 'life goes on' and 'get a life' in a thread discussing drink driving. 'Life ends' and 'take a life' may be more pertinent.

he refused to give a sample. It doesn't matter if in reality he was stone cold sober (which would make refusing to give a sample about the most stupid thing he could have done), the refusal alone is enough to convict as refusing to give a sample is in itself a criminal offence. He'll be convicted, banned and fined. He has no defence.

Can't be bothered to read 16 pages but wondered anyone had mentioned drugs here. Erratic driving will give the Police due cause to stop you on suspicion, they could ask the driver "Have you been drinking sir"..."No I haven't ..sod off"..would you care too come to the station and give a sample..."er...no actually I would'nt".. in other words are blood/urines tested soley for alcohol or the full range of substances?....anyone
