This is just a rumour at this stage but my sources tell me this sale will fund a new subsidised bus service to the ground for London Irish supporters. If true then this is excellent news.

Also, another thing I just heard on the grapevine, and again this is yet to be confirmed, is that if we sell Gylfi then life will go on and apparently there will still be a few reasons for us to remember to breathe in and out tomorrow morning.

Obviously that goes against everything else I've heard on here so it's probably not true but let's hope so eh?

On a serious note though, apparently this Jake Taylor is mint and plays very well off the main striker. He's got a bigger rep coming through the Academy than Gylfi had, so you never know, when one door closes......

Royals-lad14 the thing is would he wanna move to germany when he is only 20 ?

Well he did leave Iceland for England when he was 15/16(?) so he's obviously mature beyond his years. I'm just surprised an English PL team didn't come in for him. As there's still a day to go before the window shuts, maybe there'll be a counter offer from someone of the likes of Everton (Rodwell leaving to ManUre?), Newcastle, Villa (few left/leaving), WBA etc.

Never know, a bidding war may develop, much to Mr Mad's liking no doubt. Feel very very flat just now.

If so no doubt he'll be sold to cover next season's black hole. Damn you black hole that never goes away & just gets bigger!

I told you so.

Why do you think I chose not to renew my ST? Did I believe that the club held any genuine ambitions to compete at this level? And who was the oxf*rd mongtard who put such a ridiculously low mimimum release fee into the contract?

Daft Old Coot - oxf*rd off
Hammond - oxf*rd off
Howe - oxf*rd off

What was it that was sung after we got gubbed 3-0 by Port Vale when TB1 was in charge?

"Nice ground, no fans"

Get used to it folks.

There would never be a bidding war if there's a minimun release clause as all the clubs would bid that amount, it would then be up to them clubs to persuade Glyfi to join there club, so what ever the clause is that is the max we are getting im affraid.

Guuted isnt even the word!

It all depends on what happens next. 2 new players of decent level will be the best possible scenario. No new players,or further sales will be catastrophic.i hope the club know this.

I wonder what would happen if Gylfi put SJM's nose out and refused to go. It will never happen though. Perhaps the clubs financial situation is a finer margin than we as supporters appreciate.

Mike Hunt Jonny just posted on GetReading...

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... r_6million

Sources suggest that Reading’s star midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is on the verge of signing for Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim in a deal believed to be in the region of £6million.

It is understood that Sigurdsson is in Germany today to discuss terms and is set to sign before the transfer deadline on Tuesday evening.

Last season’s top scorer has continued where he left off last season with two goals so far in the Championship, including a deft finish against Leicester in Royals’ 2-1 win at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday.

Should the deal go ahead, it will be a bitter blow for Royals fans, who had been hoping their prize asset would stay at Madejski Stadium for at least one more season.

Adding salt into the wound is the fact that the Academy graduate signed a new contract at Reading just a few weeks ago, while boss Brian McDermott is unlikely to receive any of the transfer money to stregthen his squad.

He seems to think that BM will not get any of the funds... Fcking great. Fu<k you cnuts.

Madejski would need to take a serious look at himself if he doesnt use that money to fund at least one CB and one striker.

Agreed. It's really important we get the win against a team like Palace.

I'm just lol'ing at the people who rubbished the idea of Madejski selling to a Thai/middle Eastern consortium. People moaning that we'll lose our identity  , what identity have we got??

Would love it if Gylfi snubs Hoffenheim. Love to see Madejski`s face then
