Oddly enough he had his effective moments on the left. I suspect as he's been out the picture a while he a) wasn't tireed and b) wasn't worked out and overmarked. Seemed to me like he took them by surprise. Certainly surprised me, I wasn't expecting him to slot back into top form!

Good for him, although reports suggest Bournemouth played open, which suits him.

Looked like he had a bit of a licence to create again but his defensive work was good

Some good quick crosses as well. Didn’t look totally miserable all the time either which is progress

Yeah good points Ian and Hound.

Sutekh I note there was no Clarke on the bench last night and following up on the Chronicle’s item today thought I’d agree that it is utterly bemusing that since his performance at Brum and subsequent recovery from injury he’s had very little pitch time under either Pauno or Ince.

Not saying he’s the striking saviour we all need but surely he should have been more involved so that he’s getting valuable experience esp. as he could be the only striker at the club next season who has played and scored for the first team.

Maybe he’s not doing enough to get selected ahead of those who are there ? He won't be the only striker at the club next season and you pick your best options for today on the bench, not use it to look at hypothetical future scenarios !

That's quite harsh mate, Hound's comments are generally ok.
