skipper
paultheroyal £20 million Celtic bound

Pull the other one. Where did you read that?!

EDIT: I read it too

Feel a bit sad for Cork, who sold back their sell on clauses. It's good for us, but can't help but feel for the little guys.

Didn't Cork sell them in an effort to get cash to stay in business - but didn't they go bust anyway?

1TeamInBerksRFC
moo Sorry, maybe I should have been more clear for our resident spacko.

While it is 99.9999% likely he will leave the club this summer, if Long WANTS to stay, then he would be able to do so.

he going to leave you Stupid Fool

Later reports indicate either Newcastle, Celtic, or Bayern Munich have won the race. That's only a prediction.

Love the media; Everton have won the race for a fee in the region of 5 million, nope sorry Celtic have won the race, no sorry Newcastle have won the race

Meanwhile, in the real world, Shane Long has received a new deal offer from Reading....

Whats probably meant is that the Club have accepted a bid off one of the clubs, but they're waiting for Long to return.

That's the current situation with Craig Mackail-Smith where Peterborough confirmed they've accepted a bid from a premiership club but cannot act on it until he returns from holiday.

My guess is it's just paper talk anyway!

While it would be a great honour to play for such a prestigious club, what about his missus and young child? And his Mum?

I'd think of it as a great experience and worth a risk for my family to live in a different culture and learn another language. But i'm not a football player with a ex page 3 missus............ But do have a young child.

Wouldn't be a problem for the child, would grow up Bi-Lingual and have way more opportunities in life than the average child of a pro footballer & page 3 model from the British Isles.
