ManchesterRoyals
Ideal
Jackson Corner New manager same shite players.

But how could this be? I kept saying our players just were not any better, but everyone else on here kept assuring me that now that we've got rid of Brian we would finally play great football, and he was the one holding us back by refusing to play Guthrie and playing direct, effective football??? This makes no sense! Surely we should be winning now that Guthrie is in the team again!??

Didnt Brian say all season that the players were good enough? Enough said

Great idea, tell your players they're shit.

ZacNaloen
Gordons Cumming
ZacNaloen Adkins will have learned a lot today about our midfielders.

It's our primary weakness and it's a deep rooted problem, it's been like it for years.

During the seasons we've managed to win 2 championships?

Not so much when we won it with Coppell, but that was years ago. Since Sidwell left really.

Agree. CM has been a huge issue for years. We've just largely managed to get away with bypassing it under BM but you can't do that long term. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take one forward. At least Adkins has 7 more games to assess who he wants to keep.

Lets not forget how important Kebe is. Our poor form generally coincides with him being out.

At the end of the day the manager has had under a week to sort this bunch of muppets out and we never expected anything from this game anyway. Southampton next week is a proper test. We move on.

ManchesterRoyals
sandman
BenSmith91 Our bench looks pretty decent today

Why would we need a bench when we have Guthrie? In fact why do we even need the rest of the team?

Hope we win and Guthrie gets a hat-trick, there again i doubt that would shut u up

I was just hoping that he'd at least have turned up. Not the first time he's failed to do that though is it?

This. Based on that, the exit door awaits Ledge and Karacan for certain. Kelly as well was utter shite as well.

Agreed. Our worst form, surprise, surprise! has coincided with the loss of our best players and no Guthrie seems to help as well

So what has Nigel learnt...

Players:

Keep Mariappa and HRK

Ditch Pog, Ledge, Jobi, Guthrie, Shorey and Jem ASAP

Jury still out on Taylor, Kelly and Pearce

Subs were ok! Effort (for the first time in the day) from Hunt, Akpan looked good in front of the defence and GMc wasn't on for long enough.

Tactics:

Passing, tackling, tracking back and crossing are all problem areas.

But we're well practised at picking the ball out the net!

Agreed, Nobody bar Marriappa emerges with much credit from that one.

Whats worrying is just how crushed the players spirits seemed to be. As soon as we conceded it ceased to be a contest.

Pog had no service and Shorey was better than Kelly. Jobi created the goal as well with a decent cross

I would be more worried about Pearce. He seems incapable of passing the ball out of defence. When he tries it, he loses it.

Guthrie was shite as well, but the best of a bad bunch in midfield. Akpan looked better when he came on late, but by then Arsenal were taking it easy and the players were knackered.

Only player to come out of that with any credit is HRK.
