SCIAG It's amazing how quickly our "best winger" changes.

I think Kebe, Drenthe and McAnuff have shown a higher level of quality over time than HRK and McCleary have so far. I don't think it is wise to suddenly declare that one of the latter two is "our best winger" whenever they have a good game. I think all five are excellent Championship wingers, but from what I've seen Kebe and McAnuff are a class above, and Drenthe certainly is if he can recreate his form from early in his career.

agreed- massive lol @
McCleary is by far and away our best winger

hes good. he may now, or in future be our best winger. its hard to quantify.
peronally i think kebe is the best, with mcanuff, HRK and mcleary at about the same level just below.
to say far and away is daft imo

It was an opinion stated by one poster buddy, don't worry about it

Well, thats the longest pre-season in history ever over with, one which started back in March.

There is now absolutely no excuse whatsoever for anything other than a slick performance on Saturday :!:

Speaking after the loss, Royals keeper Stuart Taylor said: "It's not good enough to be honest, we came to a League Two side, no disrespect, but we need to be doing a lot better than what we've done."

Damn oxf*rd right they need to do better

Of the senior players, I think he's our least good winger, although he's got bags of potential and should really kick on sometime soon. HRK just ahead of him. Kebe best, McAnuff not far behind but more reliable. Drenthe an unknown quantity waiting in the wings to take over from Kebe's mercurial brilliance.

Christ I hope we get that monkey off our back quickly. It's starting to obviously take root in many fans minds as a massive thing. Even though right now it means fook all.

I still think that we are potentially 2-3 players short and unprepared for this season.

Striker, creative midfielder and another midfielder or striker would probably see us through but I just can't see us being ready to play the type of football that NA wants us to play.

NA said before Portugal that we have a strong squad however his aim is to go into the season with an extremely strong squad. I'm sure he will address this but the first month of the season may well be quite frustrating I feel.

As one of those who argued that the main reason for sacking McDermott when they did was to allow the new manager much longer to get ready for this season, I have to say that is indeed a very valid point.

Have to agree as well the performance on Saturday should be much more fluid.

What worries me most is Adkins is looking to play a certain formation yet is not buying players that fit that formations (much like Brian).

We must get a specialist CAM who can position themselves correctly and support the striker. We also need a striker who can actually play up front on his own.

I think Adkins knows what he is doing, we don't know that's he is not trying to get someone in right now
