CholseyRoyal The players wont be any more ITK than the rest of us. The only thing they will be aware about is who is having a contract negotiated.

Thats true.Often the players were the last to find out. I know an ex Reading player and that was the case.

Royal Lady Who is to say the new owners would keep Hammond et al on anyway - so I hardly think Hammond's salary would be influential in whether someone buys this club or not.

It's an expense, if they didn't keep him they would have to pay up his contract. So it's as much a factor as any number of other items on the budget sheet, but I'd agree it would in no way be a deal breaker

gazzer, loyal royal it does look bleak - expect a fire sale unless we find a buyer ASAP.

looking likely the high earners will be moved on on free transfers and of assets will go for a few million

Good to see someone not afraid to state the bleeding obvious.

Who is to say that he is on a fixed length contract?

We extended this, but not sure when to. He's always been on a fixed term deal, the last few were 3 years, so probably until 2016, same as Adkins et al.

SPARTA
Theroyalbox The club has interest in though... They have spoken to buyers who have been very interested but the problem lies with Hammond and the other directors... They have asked for too high wages and that's put people off. Madjeski is talking with a potential Indian owner now about buying the club he is doing it personally as the directors have put buyers off previous

Hammond? How on earth is he a problem? The problems are with those selling the club. They want a certain price, and in SJM's case we know he wants assurances the stadium name will never change, and that will be off putting to some/many as it can bring in as much as 700k a season at this level (Derby 7m deal over 10 years). There has been a lot of interest, some though was from parties that didn't have enough money behind them. Others, well who knows... The situation is pretty dire though, and needs resolving ASAP. Will SJM do the best by Reading? You'd hope so, but by making any such demands, he's actually part of the problem.

I've seen no evidence of this.

SPARTA knows nothing. He's just loves rumours and repeating them again and again makes him feel goooood.

I've never claimed to be, but I know who to listen too. Each to their own.

Not really relevant. If you get rid of someone you pay them off as per their contact, whether it is fixed term or not doesn't change that and many fixed term contracts have a limited payout anyway. All a bit of a non issue all round though !

And yet you keep posting things as fact based on what other people say when you have no bloody idea.

The Three Phases of Truth
.

Truth passes through three phases:
##First it is ridiculed.
##Second it is fiercely and violently opposed.
##Third, it becomes self-evident.

— Arthur Schopenhauer

When a new way is suggested, people often criticize it as strange, outlandish, or even at odds with how the laws of the universe. It is lambasted and laughed at.

When momentum begins to build for change, ridicule gives way to concerted opposition. The forces that benefit from the way things are currently arranged feel affronted. They defend the status quo without whatever means necessary.

When this momentum builds into an undeniable force, it creates an incentive for the power-holders to move off their adamant position. Now the impossible is not only possible, it becomes the new standard. It becomes self-evident

the trouble is, that stage 1 and 2 of that also apply to stuff thats absolute bollox. so theyre not the best measure of whether something will actually become truth

Given that he thinks RFC has one owner.. you may be right

http://companycheck.co.uk/company/00053 ... areholders

http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03889 ... areholders

At the last count it's ultimately about 25 owners...

No, because i can't see either owner accepting it as I said

Hope I'm wrong though. I guess it stops jm losing more money, and means anton gets his money back so it could be attractive.
Just hope they aren't greedy self serving serving cahunts
