It's almost like he was distracted by Natalie and didn't read the other posts.

If that's what a professional journalist can churn out then I could do better. It's almost like he tried his best to do a hatchet job because he didn't get his interview. The article just comes across as being vicious and envious. Oh look rich people date beautiful women, have lots of nice property and won't talk to trolls like me.

The news coming out of Jonny Fordham is nothing short of bizarre.

Agreed. He just came out with this:

Jonny Fordham ‏@JonnyFordham 1h
AZ handed back his #readingfc shares in Jan and resigned from board. Samuelson playing a big part still. Any deal will take time

It seems a bit nonsensical.

"Professional" and "Journalism", in general, do not belong in the same sentence...

I mentioned AZ offered his shares back for a quid if the sale didn't go through by June back in Oct last year so the January thing is the only bizarre part of this.

I find the notion of handing back shares for nothing as bizarre in itself tbh. Then JF goes on to say that TSI will profit from any sale, but how can that be so when AZ's handed all their shares back? Or are they still in TSI's name and he's just removed himself from that company?

What a f*cking mess, however this all plays out I just hope that by this time next year we're back to having some kind of stability.

Yes the January thing is wrong I believe Otherwise they would be long gone.

I am sure it's June for the offered hand back. Up till then (assumes ) then TSI are on for 51% of profit which is increasingly unlikely there will be any. Billionaires don't tend to be mugs -unless it suits them al la Bernie Ecclestone- so expect this chap is serious will drive the deal down to the last penny.

still listed as a director:

Surely SJM wouldn't want the other 51% back as that makes him liable for 100% of the debt and if we don't find a buyer soon he's going to be in even more financial trouble?

But if he gets it back and successfully sells it he gets all the wonga, not half.

Would it not be possible for the fans to be told by the club at least a little bit about what's going on? Fans are treated like sh1t. This is one of the main reasons I refuse to go to lots of matches. It would be the equivalent of paying someone to kick you in the balls or insult you every week. At least that would be more honest and you'd know where you stood. Football fan = mug.

That seems a fair point. I think the club should give some sort of monthly update to fans as to how the buyout is going since it is of such importance, or respond to developments that leak elsewhere, within the bounds of confidentiality needed of course.

Instead, because the club's silence has created frustration we find out details from sources which the club cannot control.

Anyone who has read SJM's florid 'in vino veritas' perhaps pronouncements in the Daily Telegraph, ref this thread, would be in no doubt about the true position though.
