melonhead
Scutterbucketz Completely disagree that experience counts as much as ability.

but it certainly counts. and an more experienced player who is of the same ability should earn more

Yep. If that's what he meant then, I agree.

Ian Royal cheeselog... you're making yourself look an absolute twat right now.

For calmly debating whether the player of the year award is the best indicator of the best player, and suggesting the 'best player' may deserve pay parity?

Considering the number of hours that you spend on here I'd have thought the level of debate and behaviour required for you to consider somebody "an absolute twat" would be considerably worse than that.

Joining in a debate solely to call somebody a twat is, of course, model behaviour which I'm sure really impresses all of your cyber 'friends'.

I'm with Mr Cheeselog here.

Pearce's position is just as strong as Mariappa's and his excellent performances for us in the Championship were a massive part of our promotion success. At the same time Mariappa also played well for Watford, by all accounts, but there is more to be said for winning personal awards in a successful side than being the best of a decidedly average and unsuccessful bunch.

Pearce's performances last season were every bit as good as Mariappa's in my opinion and when the season started, and the wrangle first reared it's head, Pearce was a bedrock of our side and Mariappa couldn't get a game.

melonhead a hardworking player who works his legs off will beat an arrogant languid player of greater ability and achievement every time.

Which of those is Pearce?

Pearce is a complete star if he re-signs on terms that we can live with. If he signs for someone else, he is liable to be booed everytime we see him.

According to the EP Pearce is close to agreeing a deal with.... Reading FC

Seems a breakthrough and positive strides in negotiations have been made in the last two weeks so looks likely he could be fighting for his place alongside Morrison and Mariappa next season.

I would therefore presume Reading would not be in the marked for another central defender unless Wolves persuade ourselves and Gorkss otherwise.

Wolves aren't in for Gorkss anymore anyway. Saunders wanted him and he's been fired.

Shame Dickov got the Donny job or Saunders would probably have tried to bring him along.

I think it had something to do with no one in the premier league wanting him.

If no PL clubs were in for him, then realistically we are the next best option (even if it wasn't us he was a player for). I can just imagine him in his front room........

'You failed me and made me look a muppet. It was a simple task to sell an International class CB to the teams in the Premier League, but couldn't even manage that. You looked clueless in a task that that should have been simple. I am sorry, but there is no other option. David, you're fired.........'

He isn't even that good. Reminds me of Sonko. Great at heading but shit with the ball at his feet.
