Re: another, thants right another embargo for late PAYE payments - a new embargo

I fear the worst for Saturday that we will get a good thrashing by the Posh. It is a sad indictment of where we find ourselves that I would consider a draw on Saturday as a great result.

I was prepared to give Dai a chance but frankly if the cared one jot for this club he would sell and go. I suspect he is just hoping to get as much as possible of his dosh back and he would rather hold on desperately to a reduced shareholding in an attempt to do so - even if it means that failure will lead to the end of the club like his other two. He is supposed to be a big gambler and he is gambling the future of this club.

From Despair To Where? We're a bit of a fixer upper though, aren't we? Need a fair bit up front to sort out fundamental problems and without 2 promotions, we will very quickly turn into a money pit. The problem with having elite facilities is that they only pay for themselves if you're playing at an elite level.

Even if you get the club for, say £30m, you're looking at a spend of £100m before you have a sniff of a chance of seeing a return.

Well, FFP limits loses to £39m over 3 seasons, so they're going to struggle to spend £100m.

Spend £100 Million in 1-2 seasons, go up?

Say we get this benevolent new owner that wants to pump money into the club but unlike Dai, will do it within the restrictions. L1 only factors wage vs income iirc, 60% for most of the league, 75% for newly relegated sides (so again, thanks for oxf*rd us this season Dai), if you spent loads but stayed within the 60/76% wage limits and got promoted to the Champ, would you then have to report your massive overspend on transfers, or is that not factored in for newly promoted sides?

Does anyone know what Robbie Savage’s Twitter post was about?

very worrying times for two young men , one starting out and the other with a young family !

The original post was from mirror football but has been deleted.

He's talking about Charlie Savage and Lewis Wing. Neither have been registered yet.

I'm talking about a new owner having to spend £100m in total to buy the club, stabilise it and then bankroll it over a period of years in order to get to the Premier League, which is just about the only way they would be getting any return on their investment. It was in response to someone suggesting we were an attractive investment opportunity. I have explained this already

I don't know why Sell Before We Dai don't approach Savage. Ex pro, media personality and personality connected to what happening but with no direct connection to the club. If nothing else, see if he can ask questions.

Bit over dramatic though isn't it? Worst case they're in limbo for a couple of weeks, then walk away and probably both find a Championship club.

Can they walk away? They signed contracts, they're just not registered.

Technically I would say that they can as the club presumably is in breach of its side of the contract. Any sports lawyers on here?

So this is going to be a very worrying spell until this tax bill gets paid and we get another week to try and sign players in time before the failure to pay the next tax bill.

Have to say though that the FL really don't exactly come out of this with much credit but then when you've got idiotic problems with cashflow and a club seemingly unable to resolve it in the 6 months or so since the first late payments what do you expect.

Yep, has been paid by the looks of it. So Savage and Wing must surely now be registered for the weekend and we should be able to resurrect any deals we have in the wings. Obviously every chance we'll be back in embargo territory before the window closes unless new investment comes in.

Not massively surprised that this has been sorted before the party at the Turtle tonight.

But this months bill will be much lower as based solely on this season's wages, as Moore, Joao and co are out of the way completely now
