I think that Brendon Rodgers should be the next manager. If we cannot get him, then we should turn to Curbishley or Jewell.

I'd quite like to see Aidy Bothroyd or Alan Curbishley or Brendon Rodgers!

But I think the chairman now has to put up and shut up..... he needs to stop bleeting on about wanting to sell the club as this is not going to be a selling point for any manager and must be quite unsettling for both manager and players!

Gus Poyet has said he'll be interested in the job, but i'll prefer someone like Curbishley which would be a positive appointment for Reading and show we have intentions of moving the club forward. He's done it for Charlton; took them up into the premier league and established them as a well established premier league club, so there is no doubt he has got the experience. Boothroyd would be a good shout as well.

I'm a little confused by the number of people wanting Brendan Rodgers. Is it just because he used to run the Academy? Because his actual football managament experience comprises a 42% win rate in 31 games. More than a little untested and no indicator why he should be any better than say Parky just because he used to play for us (and also wouldn't be the right choice).

I think Boothroyd or Sanchez could be solid options given their track records, Hoddle given the name and early achievements. The only name I can think that would really excite me is Martinez but I think we would struggle to prise him away from Swansea or indeed stop another club coming in ahead of us.

Anyone who is suggesting Aidy Boothroyd obviously has no knowledge of his reign of terror at Watford. He put alot of noses out of joint with his arrogance and funny ways, which is fine when you have the success to match your madness, but other than one promotion season through the playoffs, what did he achieve? One policy he instigated at Watford was the removal of all pictures of past players and glories from the walls of the inside of the stadium as he wanted to concerntrate on the future. This mean't pictures of John Barnes and Luther Blissett were torn down only to be replaced by Malky Mackay's ugly mug on the tunnel walls. Most of the players hated his guts as well.

The man isn't what Reading need right now or ever.

I would like it to be either Paul Jewell or Alan Curbishley, both have got teams promoted to the premier league and have kept teams in the top flight with the sort of budget's that i think they would have to work with here at Reading.

Rodgers has performed miracles with a very poor Watford team. He also has contacts in the footballing world which would benefit us greatly in the transfer market. And in terms of coaching pedigree, Mourinho said that Rodgers is one of the finest young coaches in the business, and players such as Terry and Lampard are also full of praise for him after his spell at Chelsea.

The only man I would like to see or get excited about seeing is Keegan!
Alright I would get excited if it was Parky but for all the wrong reasons.

Rodgers dragged Watford out of the relgation zone this season! I like the bloke and would like to see him at the club but I think that he is setled at Watford and wants to prove a point! Plus I believe Rodgers still lives in the area with his family - maybe it's just a bit too close to home life for him?!!

That's the sort of short-sightedness I've come to expect from you.

I would like Ferguson Jr but I fear the club will choose Dolan as a cost-cutting exercise so Madejski can maximise the club's worth to make it a more attractive prospect for potential buyers.
