trueroyal1871 Get in there!! Well done Kebe and Long. Can our ropey defence keep Norwich from scoring again though?

That would be our usual defence that is one of the better ones around would it?

Narch commentators given them an absolute slating, saying they weren't marking at all and were just ball watching.

was thinking about it, but £30+ is too much for what would be my third game this month... And I've been spending so much recently so I can't afford it.

Oh you mean the one that has consistently conceded goals that has resulted in to many games that should have been wins being draws and games that should have been draws being defeats. Take your RTG's off and you might see this squad for what it is a mid to lower championship side.

Or rather this squad has the ability to reach the play-offs but is too inconsistent and too prone to silly mistakes to achieve their potential.

Or, to put it another way, the defensive record of this team is bettered by 4 (count them F O U R) teams in our league.

Mc Dermott out, Madejski out etc....

You, sir, are making the same mistake that I keep falling for - letting the facts cloud your judgement.

It is a very good defensive record... the defence is not woeful... but it is far far too prone to stupid lapses in quality and those mistakes have cost us a lot of points when combined with our inability to regularly score 2 goals or more.

You're making the mistake of taking one fact and thinking it gives you a complete picture.

I don't know how 11 games scoring '2 goals or more' compares with other teams, but, you're right, we only have the 8th best scoring record in this division!!

McDermott out etc, etc....

Come on you Royals! Just need to make it through the next two with wins then Ledge comes back and we will be alright then I reckon. :-)

I think not. AllI have said is that it is one of the better defences around - and the facts support that.

If we are going to enter a totally different debate about the team's ability to concede silly goals at key times then so be it. While I might agree with that I would counter by pointing out that all defences can fall for that sometime. Which would bring us back to the facts - this defence is not woeful, nor is it inherently weak. Surprisingly it has players who are not superhuman and nor are they perfect or errorfree; were they anywhere near that they'd be worth £MMMMMs and would be playing for one of the top clubs in Europe.
