Ideal
Royals-lad14 hal robson kanu??

Normally McAnuff plays on the left. He's not left footed.

Robson-Kanu has played left wing for the last four or five matches.

Lower West
North Somerset Royal I agree def no pen. I was sat in the main stand and Fed certainly got the ball first. Even the Palce fans around me agreed it was not a pen and also thought themselves very fortunate that the ref disallowed the goal. Overall however a draw was a fair result.

Ref was in perfect position too, followed play and had an unobstructed view of the incident.

Seems like Dougie Freedman agrees with you:

"I have seen our penalty decision [when Jonathan Parr collided with Adam Federici] and I think it is a good call from the referee.

"The goalkeeper has pushed the ball on to Jonathan's foot. It was by a split second, so it was a good call."

Frustrating to be robbed again by crap refereeing but we should have had it won before then. Overall we'd all have taken a point before the start as Palace are a good side this year (although that may well not last if Zaha goes to the PL in January) so perhaps we should start only accepting wins. That's 6 points dropped in the last 3 games in my opinion, though!

Well that's total crap as Mills took it left footed meaning it started off going away from the line before curling back in (please note a very good delivery) - unless Gorkss somehow managed to head it in after it had gone behind the far post

This was right in front of me as I sat with some 'Palace supporting mates, and it was definitely not a penalty. However, the ref awarding a corner was an incorrect decision in itself as it went out of play as Feds pushed it against their player.

Just watched the highlights on RW and I'm surprised that stayed 0-0. A few points though:

- Brilliant to have Karacan back in the team. Seemed to feature in a number of the highlights from the game. He's carrying on his momentum from Hull, Derby, Southampton..
- How could we not tackle Zaha..? Seemed to have far too much time on the ball and reminded me of my tackling skills on Fifa 12 - non existent.
- That's three draws in a row against top five teams. Very impressed with this. Doesn't matter what stage of the season it is.
- We really need to break down this 'only one goal scored in the first half' business.

yup- sort that, and the home record and we will be challenging
also impressed with the change in style BMs managed, whilst also doing an almost complete rebuild

If true, that's the most outrageous thing I've hard for a long time. It exposes the ref as a complete cheat, knowing that he's prepared to lie to justify the decision he took to even things up after he didn't award the penalty. It's only a crappy Championship match but this should be investigated by the Football League if that's what he's now contending.

That is shocking if true, there is absolutely no way that's gone out.

Le Fondre is blocking off the keeper a bit as it comes over, but it was a tricky one to come and claim and he didn't actually seem to be making much effort to try and get round ALF.

Looks a good goal to me. But then they could easily have got a penalty, even if the right decision was made, and had one great save from Fed and another cleared off the line.

Welcome to the championship...where you can kick the S**T out of everyone else on the pitch yet you even brush a keeper ( who already has an advantage in being able to us his hands) and its a foul. Idiots are in charge of modern day football and we are seeing the repercussions of that. An absolutely baffling law protecting keepers when they already have an advantage in being able to catch the ball in the first place.

Just seen the replay, oxf*rd hell he really did get that one wrong didn't he?

No one touched the keeper and there's no way the ball went out of play.

I'm sure Watford fans will have alot of sympathy for us over this disallowed goal.

gazzer, loyal royal ref said in the football league paper this morning that the ball had gone out of play from the corner even though the ino didn't give it

Whoever told you it said that in the Football League Paper was winding you up my friend. It said no such thing. The ref definitely gave a foul on Speroni but I think it could have been for something that he believed happened just after the corner was taken and before the camera turned to show the six yard box. He certainly blew long before the ball was in the net. Maybe whatever the ref saw or thought he saw was not on camera. If anything happened at all though it must have been something that happens as every corner is taken so we were definitely unlucky with that.

That aside I thought Palace were the more dangerous side early in the game with Zaha looking dangerous and Williams finding some space between the midfield and our back four . Mills stuck to his task well though and after he cleaned him out with that wild challenge and Zaha himself was booked for an even more dangerous one on Ledge, Mills got the better of him and Zaha faded out of the game. I dread to think what might have happened if McDermott had agreed with the people who wanted Harte to return. Gradually Ledge and Jem seemed to get control of the midfield area and we were clearly the better side for most of the second half though Williams continued to look dangerous right up until Freedman took him off after which to be fair Palace had a good spell.

During our spell of control HRK should have scored and probably Alf as well although at least his chance was more difficult and he managed to hit the bar. It was a decent result but we have definitely deserved more of a return from our last three matches than three points. We could even had got nine. We're doing OK at the moment though.

You're missing the point big-time. The ref argued that the foul on the keeper was the reason for disallowing the goal and then later (apparently) said it was because the cross had gone out of play. Whatever the supposed "basis" of his decision, he disallowed the goal not because he perceived there to be ANY infringement but simply because he felt on reflection that he'd got the penalty wrong 2 minutes earlier. He didn't cancel the goal for what he really believed to be an infringement. That's the point.
