Great performance. Incredible work-rate. Noel Hunt wasn't at the races today though. Can't recall him winning a single header. Most unlike him. Probably needs a rest. Give Alfie a go.

floyd__streete Standard Reading performance. The opposition tended to look more comfortable in possession than we did. But we steam-rollered 'em.

Cheers.

Yep, succinctly put.

Excellent man-management from Brian to get a performance like that out of Cummings.

Thought that Cummings was terrific today. Def his best game for us and a great response on the back of Mullins stepping into the right back position.

A comfortable 3 points against a team in the play-offs, with Reading never needing to find their top gear; another game that won't last long in the memory, but, come the end of April, who will care if we are cheering the team as they go on the open bus tour around Reading again?

Jobi had an excellent game; his delivery for the second goal only matched by Harte's delivery for the 3rd, though the goal of the game was Lua Lua's thunderbolt for Blackpool.

As for Blackpool, hmmmmm. I haven't seen a Championship side make so many inaccurate passes in a single game for a long, long time - at times it was embarrassing, especially the crossfield pass in the first half that went out, fully 20 yards behind the player it was intended for - and yet.......they are a genuine play-off contender, whose record in the play-offs is second to none.

Onward to the next game; who do we play?

moo
winchester_royal I was actually very impressed with Afobe considering it's his first competitive game in 10 months, he's 19, and he's only had one day's worth of training with his new team mates. He showed more than enough to suggest he can play a big part in the run-in.

Anyway, thought Jem was absolutely superb today.

Post of the day

+1

Even though i said more or less the same thing before him :(

Absolutely superb performance today. We were sat behind the Blackpool goal in the first half, in the South Stand and that early volley by Kebe that hit the post was absolutely stunning - very unlucky not to score.

Enjoyed the afternoon and thought the team was inspired and exciting.

Can't wait for the match next weekend - that's going to be massive!

 I would say Hunt has been one of our best players in the last few games. Always works hard for the team and has some quality too.

I think Cummings may have been brought in to deal with the pace of Matt Phillips, even though he didn't start for them in the end. Thought he was their best player? :?

Dont remember that........remember the first minute when Kebe missed kicked across the goal and Hunt failed to tap it in!?

Ark Royal I have not seen a harder working team than us in the Championship this season. The continuous hunting of the ball was great to behold, especially when we were 3-1 up. The crowd appreciated it and so did Brian. A great win.

Oh, and Brian should play Lawro's comments in the dressing room before the remaining games to get everyone going. What a vacuous, ill-informed uttercunt.

As evidenced by the round of applause Brian gave Noel when he chased the keeper down late in the 2nd half and came very close.

Exactly.

Man Friday
John Peel Not the greatest of spectacles at times

 :?:

All you've demonstrated there is that you know how to quote someone out of context. Also, pay attention to the words 'at times'. Cheers.

Second half was not the greatest at times and I like to see good football. I stand by that. All the same, it was a very well executed game plan.

You obviously miss the headed flick ons in the first half to set off Afobe or Mcanuff then?
