floyd__streete - Everyone is desperate for Alex Pearce (a man with all the pace of a steamroller) back in the side.
- Jay Tabb has just started two games in a row for us.
- Mikele Leigertwood is our best player.

Libertine Because we just don't have enough talent to compete at this level. I love the guys and I DEFINITELY feel the core of this team is a good one, but not enough was done to make sure we stay up...that is why we're going down. And when we do go back down what talent we have at the core of this team will get picked over by larger teams despite us having a Russian oligarch as an owner.

TBM We back off and back off and back off until they score.
Happened against Swansea, happened against Fulham, happened tonight
Look how Norwich beat Arsenal the other week and that was holding a 1-0 lead
Dear oh dear - its humiliating, it really is

I'm not sure I agree you know. I think a lot of the players are good enough it's just tactically we are too naive.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I do believe a lot of the players we have can cut it at this level. We just don't have the depth, and talent at key positions, to cut it at this level. I don't know what more can be done tactically. We have sat back and blown leads and we have tried to attack and blown leads. Tactics, and results, are dictated by the resources at your disposal...we are good enough at points, just not good enough for the entire game.

Their target for the next game has to be a clean sheet at all costs. The whole team needs to take responsibility for it. Lots of pressing, closing down & not falling asleep for set pieces. I really don't know where we go from here. What a blow that was tonight. A real shame for Brian.

Can you honestly say, after last night's game against Arsenal's "B" team, we have a clean sheet in our near future?

Yes, because Arsenal's B team are better than Villa, Wigan, Southampton and Norwich. Any B team with Arshavin, Walcott and Giroud is no bad side...

Libertine Here is a look statistically;
Possession:
Reading: 35% bbc 44
Arsenal: 65% bb 56
Goal Attempts:
Reading: 19 bbc 17
Arsenal: 34 bbc 32
Shots on Target:
Reading: 9 bbc 10
Arsenal: 13 bbc 21
Goals:
Reading: 5 bbc agree
Arsenal: 7 bbc agree
There is no way we can soak up that kind of pressure game after game and not concede at this level. And these stats are fairly indicative of every game we play. I think at Anfield we limited Liverpool to 58% possession. That might be a highwater mark for us so far this season. The teams at this level are just too talented to let them have that much of the ball and that many attempts on goal to expect clean sheets.
