Proper defender. The tragedy of it all is that he never scored that one pitch-invasion-warranting goal for the club. Tiny legs too. But a proper defender.

Andy Griffin joined the club shortly after McDermott took charge, difficult times.

An experinced head was needed at the back, AG delivered.

A greae pro with a superb attitude.

Another club whether they be in the championship or Division One will benefit greatly from his experience.

I always remember his first nervy match against Forest away. He made a twitchy back pass to Fedders that thankfully wasn't pounced on. Thankfullybye became a rock after that (for the most part). Casually confident in his clear up rate at the back and a good platform for the team to build upon. Looking initially slow as hell, slightly overweight- my first impressions were not great. That changed.
Promotion means a clinical cull and the man served and delivered when needed. The cull is not always age/pace related but McDermott needs to push this team for prem consolidation and knows best.

One game. In which pretty much the entire defence was arse. Well done.

You twat. He and and Zurab played a massive part in getting us to Wembley sadly both had there worst games for the club on the day.
There only crime was trying to hard. Been a pleasure watching you play Griff. Good luck in the future you will be sure of a warm welcome whenever you return to the Mad Stad.

My lasting memory was a great pass to Gylfi who then went on to score against Burnley in the FA Cup.

I think..................

My memory of Griff will be having having a really dangerous Max Gradel in his pocket for the whole game at home last season, master class in defending. Grayson ended up subbing him.

Wish him well.

Reading the comment about Griffin probably Woodley Wanderers v Richfield Rovers (U11's) - as a sub

All the best AG. I remember his initial loan signing being greeted with at best sniffy disdain on here. But he was a key part of turning us round and getting us on an upward path under Brian McD.

Thanks and best wishes Griff - His arrival at the club had a very similar effect as Matt Robinsons back in 2000- added strength to a position we were lacking, and no coincidence our form improved because of that.

And one of the least 'flash' footballers you'll ever see , - last time I saw him, he was driving a VW Golf..!
